Arsenal Manager, Arsene wenger has confirmed that Thomas Vermaelen will take over the captain's armband from Manchester United-bound Van Persie. The Frenchman confirmed this in a press conference on Friday morning as he prepares his team for their 2012/2013 league opener against Sunderland. Wenger also announced Mikel Arteta who joined the club last summmer from Everton is now the vice-captain..
