Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Tony Stark (Iron-man) are fictional characters of DC comics and Marvel comics respectively.
Bruce Wayne is a multi-billionaire who virtually runs everything in Gotham City except crime. He is the owner of the prestigious Wayne Industries that specialises in hi-tech communication gadgets and luxurious automobile. At night, he becomes the vigilante, ninja and social crusader, Batman. He is stupendously rich, famous, disciplined, not a womaniser, deceptive, intelligent and considerate. He is the financier of the indomitable Justice League.
Tony Stark is a successful Engineer and multi-billionaire owner of Stark Industries. His company also specialises in communication devices and high-grade military hardwares and softwares. Unlike Batman, his alter ego Iron-man, is no social crusader. Iron-man is mainly concerned with world-politics and counter-terrorism. He is rich, famous, a well-known womaniser, uncouth and unserious. He seems an irresponsible member of the great "Avengers".

That's initially what I thought... no idea when they update the list as per Dark Knight Rises... we'll see.

I just remembered that both Wayne and Stark built their wealth on the foundation of their parents. It's impressive that most people believe that Wayne is wealthier. By the way, Wayne has one of the scariest mansions especially the undergrounds.
