Did you know that:
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have gone an astonishing 31 years without losing a single competitive match at home (Nations'/ World Cup qualifiers and Nations' Cup matches). This encompasses 62 matches.
The last home competitive defeat occurred in October 1981 - a WC qualifying loss to Algeria. (NB: the penalty shoot-out loss to Cameroon in the 2000 Nations' Cup final does not officially count as a loss).
Since the year 2000, the Super Eagles have lost only three world cup qualifying matches. Nigeria lost to Liberia in Monrovia in 2000; lost to Sierra Leone in Freetown (2001) and lost to Angola in Luanda (June 2004). Within this period (2000-2013), Nigeria has played 38 world cup qualifying matches.
Nigeria has scored 158 goals in FIFA World cup qualifying history, which includes 7 goals scored so far in the current campaign.

Nigeria's Women's national teams (U-17, U-20 and Super Falcons) have attended every respective FIFA World Cup.
Since the inception of the African Women's Championship in 1991, Nigeria has lost only two matches- to Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.
Francisca Ordega, Desire Oparanozie and Ebere Orji are the only Nigerian women to have played in the FIFA U-17, U-20 and senior Women's World Cups.
Nigeria is the only African country that has reached the knockout stage of every FIFA Women's tournament and the Olympics.
