@ ferdimako if u av any questions regards Flinders let me know I might be able to assist you. I just arrived a month 5days ago. Flinders and Adelaide is a very good school/place but you need to be finacially ok for at least 2months after you arrive.. Just make sure u tell them the truth about ur status..,No lying about anything because they will find out. And make sure you do your English test because even if the school didn't ask for it. You will need it for visa purpose.. Best of luck bro
Shalom

Thanks Zioni, and am so happy to have you representing Flinders. They are one of the schools am looking at right now.Others are University of Ballarat and Edith Cowan University. Am for Ms,IT. What major are you in? I will do IELTS and medicals in July, file for admission in August and lodge for visa in November against Feb 2014 start date.

I may need you and others on info for housing and how to pay for Insurance and other ways to save cash. I will say the truth and I have written the admission officer on my not-ready Transcript and he has agreed to use my unofficial version but will need to sight the originals before course registration if successful.

@AmericanVisa, company account isn't advisable because it's not for study but for business. The only thing the company can do is to make the money available in the oga's personal account.

@JonhnnyP, this is for Australia and not for USA. There is a thread for American students too. Just search and you will get.

I think you should mail the school and let them know about your qualifications.

Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Monjay(m): 9:47pm On Mar 26, 2013
@Jenny,

I must commend you for your good work. Many Nigerians abroad decline to questions especially on migration. You have proven beyond doubt that you are a blessing to this generation. God will lift you up beyond your expectation. You don't even know the value of what you are giving out. Your advice and counseling destroys many fears that we have over here. Keep the good work. I also commend other good people of Nigeria abroad who are part of the success of this thread.

Jenny, I need your wonderful advice. I approached a University in Australia for my PhD programme. The progress of getting admission is bright after the assessment. My fear is meeting the financial requirement posted at the DIAC site. I have two kids with my spouse. DIAC requires a financial proof of 12 Months. I have a plan of travelling first before my family will join me but I must include them in my visa application. My question is this, could my financial assessment be based on the the total financial requirement for the entire family? OR should DIAC assess my financial requirement alone? I mean 1 year tuition fee + 18000 + Travel cost. I need more insightful advice too.

AMERICANVISA had already assisted, but I would like your comment too.

Thanks.

AMERICANVISA had already provided an insight, but I would like your comment too.

Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by PilotHope(m): 5:36am On Mar 27, 2013
Americanvisa: pilothope,i am very much sure that with your academic grade,you must get scholarship in Canada if you apply for masters in research,go to nairaland travelling to canada thread,read the part 1,2 and 3 you will get all you need.They must give you good funding in canada more than Australia.If you try school like memorial university in newfoundland,there own admission come automatically with funding,then you can equally apply to other universities then you can chose the best

Thank you dear. I will look it up.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Americanvisa: 7:22am On Mar 27, 2013
@jenny.because of financial constraint,i am trying to reconsider to allow only wife to go but in case i want to come over,will they like to see my wife account in Australia or showing my own account will be enough.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 8:50am On Mar 27, 2013
Your wife must include you in her visa if you want to visit her or join her. If you decide to join her later and she did not include you, you have to apply for your own visitors or student visa separately and that means you also have to prove your own income source
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Americanvisa: 9:18am On Mar 27, 2013
thank for your swift response,i knew that she will include me in her visa application as the hubby but i want to know when i will be ready to visit or join her,what will be the financial proof of my living expense,will they like to know how much in her bank account in australia that will show that she is capable of financing her studies and for my living expenses or i should just only show my own statement of account from where i will be applying from.

Thanks Monjay.

Unfortunately, I may not be able to provide you with that info because I came on a skilled migrant programme as a permanent resident.

Nonetheless, at no time my financial capability was asked for.

All the best in your endeavours.

hello guys, been away for quite some time.
@Monday, I guess we have some common grounds. How about sharing some ideas how you went about getting supervisor for your PhD program with me? Its been quite a little difficult securing supervisor consent.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Monjay(m): 11:34am On Mar 27, 2013
@Cconcept,

I have not finalized with the supervisor. We are still on the process. I started by writing to the professor in charge of research programmes. He assessed my eligibility and asked me to contact some supervisors. One issue that I discovered was that our research proposal topics are always different with the research interest of the school/department. We have to align our topic to the interest of the department, and particularly to the supervisor.

Thanks

I wrote to the professor to confirm my eligibility for PhD programme. He asked me to forward my CV and transcripts, before confirming my eligibility.

Your research topic must fall under the interest of the supervisor. Search for the area of interest of your proposed supervisor. A general overview of what you intend doing (research proposal) should be enough - the topic, the research question and the intended methodology. Your supervisor will assist you in reshaping the research proposal before you submit your application.
