In this case, best and economical cannot mix at all.

Based on my experience, core i7 is the best but, not as economical as core i5.
core i5 is also good (depends on your usage) but, definitely not better than core i7.

If your laptop workload and processing requirement is moderate, you may buy core i3 or i5 but, if you have very high processing requirements, core i7 is the bomb.
