You didn't think Apple is done with the lawsuits after its victory against Samsung last week, were you? The Cupertino company has filed another patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung, adding an additional 22 devices to the list of alleged offenders.


The new list of smartphones and slates includes Samsung heavy hitters such as the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Note 10.1. They were not included in the lawsuit Apple won last week - that one actually involved mostly products which are hardly available on the market these days. There are some devices, which were part of the original suit. This time however, they are listed for infringing different patents.

1, why are these things patentable?

2, are these things not an Android problems, and not samsung per-se?



this is where i think the arguments of the pro-apple camp falls flat. why is it that these patents are being leveraged against Samsung and not every other phone manufacturer?

this is patent trolling, short and simple.

Truth is with their new phones, what do you envisage to be the innovation that will stand them out?


sure their present products are nice, but this is a company for whom the last two product releases had retina display and Siri, facebook and twitter integration as the "innovations"


To change the form factor to make it bigger has a lot of issues within their ecosystem. apps, screen res etc.

to put a bigger battery is also iffy, see above. speculation that they might change their connecting dock sef is causing ripples


considering also that the "bigger" form factor could be patented abi? apple sha patent rounded corners

LTE etc are already covered by the competition



therefore its quite understandable that they go after the competition, at least now they acknowledge that there is competition.

the comparative advantage they used to have over things like apps, battery life, hardware, looks have been eroded. unless the iphone 5 will give blowjobs on demand, when its released, pple wil look at it, and at options like SGS3 and decide.

Been following the proceedings on Verge and other sites and i'm beginning to hate Apple.

The most absurd of the all the claims Apple made, for example, was that Samsung had infringed on an Apple patent that covered a "rectangular" phone. WTF, RECTANGULAR PHONES??. Phones were rectangular way back before Apple even thought about bringing Jobs back into Apple.

This goes to show how useless American law system is.

Samsung should either fan these flames and make the whole world know that Apple is stupid or just get kicked in the balls by Apple.
For me, Apple are just a bunch of cheats who like to steal but hate competition.
