1.Unwise association
The bible says,He that walk with wise men shall be wise: but the companion of fools shall be destroyed. (Proverbs 13:20).
Learn to avoid those who do not believe in your dream because those who cannot increase you will definitely decrease you.Dream killers will make your dream fall flat before you because of the way they talk.To avoid dream killers you must first learn to recognize any unwise association.
In the New English Bible,1 Corinthians 15:33 reads make no mistake,bad company is the ruin of a good character.
Anybody who is more critical than complimentary and encouraging is bad company.Those who belittle and laugh at your God-given dreams and goals are bad company.Those who steal your energy and time through useless talk are dream killers.
Bartholomeus knew many people who had to commute to and from Jericho.To some he was a good signpost for describing the way to those who needed direction to the city. To some others he was a beggar whose ambition should not include seeing or gaining an audience with christ.(And when he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene,he began to cry out and say,Jesus son of David have mercy on me!…(mark 10:47).
The crowd looked down on him and all they saw was a little man.They tried to kill his greatest ambition.
To get what God has for you and to be the best is to be,you will have to avoid any company,friendship,and even christian circles which do not affirm your God-given dream.
2. Be selective.
Remember that the same amount of time you waste on losers is that which could have been invested with winners.God taught Moses to wisely spend the rest of his life by transferring his spirit to others.
(The lord therefore said to Moses,Gather for me seventy men from the elders of Israel,whom you know to be the elders of the people and their officers and bring them to the tent of meeting,and let them take their stand there with you.then I will come down and speak with you there,and I will take off the spirit which is upon you,and will put him upon them,and they shall bear the burden of the people with you,so that you shall not bear it all alone.)…Numbers 11:16-17.
Many people have hung around those who have only succeeded in ruining their faith and some have hung around those who have destroyed their confidence in other believers.If you hang around a man who has the spirit of gossip,you will soon manifest the same.If you are in the company of a person who likes to be strife you will soon be in strife.
Moses had a fresh anointing which would benefit the children of Israel if he transferred it to the leaders under him…..What type of company do you keep?….Check! check! check!..Before it gets too late
