From recents Boko Haram activities, network providers are becoming certain that the sect is out to destroy their phone masts in a move to elude police tracker through mobile phones.

Recently there was an attack by men on motorbikes who destroyed an MTN and Airtel mobile phone masts in Kano at the early hours of Wednesday.

Lt Col Musa Sagir who is a spokesman for Joint Task Force says that the JTF in Maiduguri has observed an evolution of new methods of criminal activities by Boko Haram terrorists, he explained that the sect has mutated in terrorists activities by including the commencement  of large scale destruction of GSM towers in the state. He said the JTF has received information that the sect carried out bombing of masts across Borno state in the last few days.

Though the Boko Haram group has not claimed responsibility for the masts destruction yet, all fingers are pointing their way.
