wondering how you can be on the offensive with china, a place you shipped American jobs to and empowered them I sat all through. Really motivating and great speech. Bringing the country back to the glorious days gone by will be hard for either Obama or Romney who works for the big boys. |

pelezico: Unfortunately what we are led to believe is that we need more Government something that Obama advocates. What Nigeria need is not more Government but less. Nigeria should not adopt Americas US economic policies because its riddled with failure. Governements do not have the know how or expertise. Its the people not Government that fix economies thru industry. Perhaps one of the reasons why the US economy has not collapsed is because of the woes currently going on in Europe. But it will collapse especially when China wake and realise that billions of dollors it has bought is worthless. I find ur post quite amazing, when the government allowed the people to run /fix the economy, what happened as a result is the depression we are into right now. Have u ever asked urself y china is been strong all along? its because their economy was/is a regulated one. if u leave it in the hands of the individuals, they'll only think about themselves and greed'll take the center stage. i dont mean to be persimistic but not everybody will become rich, not everybody will own a business - if not nobody will work for nobody and u cant do it all alone. if u are rich, u must have a driver, steward, barber, gardener, clerk etc. without which ur richness will not last. question is what plan is on ground for this group of people? 1 Like |

If you read OP's post to the end, you'll see that he's trying to claim that GEJ's agenda is not that different from Obama/Clinton's abd that he is trying to empower the masses. Unfortunately, this cannot be farther from the truth. The fact is that whenever there has been a clash between the interests if the masses and those of the corrupt ruling class, GEJ has sided against the people every single time. He allowed subsidy cheats to rob the country blind for over 2 years and when the government eventually got broke, he decided to make the masses pay the bill instead of going after the thieves. Even after the January mass protests forced his hand, he's still dragging his feet over prosecuting the these people (all of whom are well known to him). He's an Ijaw man, yet he has done nothing to rein in the excesses of the oil companies in the Niger Delta. In fact, after the last major oil spill, his oil minister was practically leading Shell's defence and the government completely accepted the company's damage estimate without question to the shock of international environmental groups. When those same environmental groups caught Shell lying about the amount of oil they spilled, GEJ's government did nothing. Even though the government is barely solvent, he's done next to nothing to reduce the insane allowances government officials get, to trim the number of useless staff or cut the bloated recurrent expenditure budget. Instead, he raised income taxes earlier this year, and instituted a series of clever schemes to milk more money out ordinary people such as the CBN's "cash-free" fines (a thinly disguised tax on individuals and businesses), the pointless new number plates and so on. From where I'm standing, every accusation the US Democrats have made against the republicans also applies to GEJ, only 10 times worse. The republicans tax the poor and give to the rich, while GEJ gives the rich a licence to pillage all they want. You tell me which is worse. 1 Like |

Joey82:Im sorry but please support what you have claimed with facts. The common man cannot print money and produce Government bonds. The common man cannot lower or raise interest rates. The common man cannot go to war. The common man does not dole out bailouts thereby transferring the dept to the tax payer. No governments and its Keynesian policies do. This is the reason for Americas failures. This is the reason why the dollar is a busted currency. These are some of the reasons behind Americas collapse And no Chinas success is because they are allowing Capitalism to flourish while America is doing the opposite - becoming more communist in its policies Dont believe the media rhetoric |

Unfortunately, this cannot be farther from the truth. The fact is that whenever there has been a clash between the interests if the masses and those of the corrupt ruling class, GEJ has sided against the people every single time. I love you men. The big oil companies have sucked Nigeria dry and our govt has been paid to shut up. How a black man can look at the suffereing of his fellow brothers and not care is beyond me. The few individuals and organisations that run the oil industry in Nigeria run free from regulation. Our oil is bunkered and sold to foriegn entities from the shores of the Niger-Delta, many of which are off the books. Such transactions are even done with Navy escort. Bill clinton's speech is against people like our Government officials. Greedy idiots that want to satisfy the few rich and themselves. Clinton himself is not pure but his statements still ring true. |

icon8: Nice attempt, nice effort! Unfortunately, I stopped reading when I saw the paragraph quoted below: Hahahahahaha you couldnt have said it better. The first couple of paragraphs were very well written. I had to check to make sure it was a fellow nairalander writting and not article from the newspaper. However, when I saw that sentence I bursted into laughter. I was like WOW! these 40 laptops are getting better everyday. |

SimonAndal: Great speech. I just love the way he painted the republicans as evil vampires (which they are). Pmsl!Africans need to wake up. Democrats and republicans are both evil vampires. Why did bill clinton fund paul kagame and musuveni to cause a genocide in eastern congo? Clintons prison policy put ore black men in jail than any other president in history. Why did Obama help france overthrow laurent gbagbo and install a puppet outtara? Why did obomber let troy davis die? Why did Obama fund the rebels in the black genocide in Libya? He does NOT serve Africa's interests. Not even african american interests. America doesn't want a strong Africa because that means less power wealth and control for them. WAKE UP! |
