I have read extensively, and have done enough research to know that what actually causes answered prayers is the believe, and not in what is believed in...those who understand know what i am talking about. So, i was on twitter yesterday, and this On Air Presenter from Top FM, Tosyn, said that she once was an Atheist, but now she has found God.

So, it got me thinking. I think maybe that word "Atheist" is thrown around too lightly. People don't get me when i say i am non-religious. They see me as a rebel. Like there is a God, and I have chosen to rebel against him. But the fact is that there is no God...there is no man in the sky. People have just been brainwashed to believe that. And I don't want to argue with any religious person, because it will just be a waste of time.

So, to the atheist in the house, can you go back to religion?

Yeah, it's becoming a religion because they focus so much on criticising God! If they do not believe in His existence, why criticise? Again I have never seen an atheistic thread on Nairaland criticising Satan or Satanism, doesn't that mean they're working for him?

What i mean is organised religion. Atheism is not an organised religion. Atheist don't meet aywhere, and they don't have any agenda to take over the world or anything. They might be angered at the delusion of religious people, and say some harsh words, but atheist don't gather anywhere to plan anything. I don't know why it is so hard for people to understand this. Like Tai Solarin said- the christian and his god is like a drunkard holding on to a light pole. I don't hate anyone, i don't have any agenda, i just know there is no heaven or hell, or no God or satan, and the fact that a lot of people hold on to this is what vexes me.

i have noted, on your concepts on religion expecially the christian one. note you have repeated twice in your above post,
the bolded "man in the sky". your post clearly proves that christianity has sought and almost suceeded in killing the very concept of religion and spirituality with their very crude and backward conceptualization of Supernatural Forces.

this has today become embedded in most peoples minds and people think all religions are the same that believe in some old baboon up there in the sky. again there is the usual discrimination against Traditional Pagan faiths where our concepts of intangible spiritual driving forces are just stepped upon or just ignored. . *sigh

It is highly unlikely that I'll be able to go be religious. Information available on the history of religions, critical thinking, scientific information and human psychology make it highly unlikely for me.

NO. I can't. My stand as being non-religious has been made known to everyone close to me and they have tried to preach to me. The good thing is that a lot of them, especialy those that Matter, still love me as their friend, brother, son, husband and father.
