I don’t know the whole story but the
rumours of Drogba set to be released
from his new club are false. The
Chelsea Legend is still very much in
China but has been strongly linked to
lots of clubs as they are anticipating
his release.
However some fans want Drogba back,
and with all what he has done for
Chelsea, are they wrong to want him
back?
Having Didier back will be morale
boosting for the Chelsea squad as
most of the players have admitted
that they miss him. He is definitely
very influential off and on the pitch.
And no doubt the fans would love him.
However the move also has
negativities. Doesn’t it ruin his
legacy?
Remember Robbie Fowler when
Liverpool bought him back at the club?
Yeah, me neither. It happens all the
time in football. A former club hero is
brought back to the club and he
doesn’t perform like he used to.
Drogba is heading to his mid thirties,
and should be playing in a less physical
league where he can have things
almost easy and there isn’t any much
pressure on him to perform and still
be earning a large salary. It’s
perfect for any veteran.
The presence of Drogba at Chelsea
believe it or not could hinder Torres
from the spot light as he was promised
last season that he will be Chelsea’s
main man up front. Having Didier back
would be like taking 4 steps forward
and 3 steps back, because all our
sign-ins this season if you haven’t
noticed are well below the age of 24.
There’s a new Youth development
project at Chelsea and if we ever sign
Didier Drogba back, it should be as a
coach.
