Nation of consumers.

As you may know, Nigerians are major consumers of technology products, as with any other product. Yet, Nigeria is not known to invent anything. Isn't this bizarre? Individually across the globe, we are trailblazers. But why can't we bring our individual knowledge together to develop something of global standard, and with little to no dependence on imported products/property? This has been bothering me for a while. Do you have advanced skill in any of the following areas and will like to contribute to the development of technology in Nigeria?

Graphic Design
Problem Solving - using these languages: c#, c++, java, JavaScript, php
Hardware Design/circuit design
Database - administration, management, design, optimization....
Firmware Design - vhdl and/or verilog
