@moi2
You are most welcome

@ Oeo
I don't think the most difficult chore is fetching water. I think the most difficult thing is raising two small kids. I also believe that you should have a heart to heart discussion with your wife rather than thinking about fulfilling your needs with someone else. Communication is key and badgering her about se-x is unlikely to help the situation

@obidia
I would discuss it with your pediatrician but rice cereal is the best choice when adding grain to the mix

@iwuuguwu
Two things jump out at me from your labs, your LH and prolactin levels. I think you need a visit with an endocrinologist. It is obvious that you are not ovulating but the reason for the albeit, slightly elevated prolactin level should be explored

@stages
No effect. Eat on.

@twinkle87
Tampons are fine as long as you change them frequently. It is not uncommon to have some tailend discharge at the end of your period. As for the clots, how large are they? It is also had to determine if these clots came from the uterus or your menstrual flow just accumulated on the tampon

The good news is that the fibroids are degenerating which means they are breaking down on their own. One treatment option availble to you might be depo lupron. It decreases the hormone that increases fibroid growth. As for fertility, it depends on the location of the fibroids which is not noted here.

@2great
I didn't forget about you. I will let you know as soon as I find out anything

I am unsure what you are asking. Could you try to be more specific?

@prommy
Was a blood test done to check your pregnancy hormone level?
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 9:22am On Apr 28, 2010
@edymontana
Home pregnancy kits are available in Nigeria but I'm not sure where to get them from. I agree that your wife needs a pregnancy test

[tr]Hi Doc,
May God continue to bless you and meet you at the point of your need, Amen

Recently I started having consistent stomach upset and decided to go to the hospital and the result of scan carried out is as follows:

The Uterus is bulky, non-gravid, contains multiple circumscribed hyperechoic and hypoechoic masses within the body and lower segment of the uterus. The aduexae, pouch of doulas appear feree and normal.
The liver, spleen, pancreas, gallbladder and kidngeys are withihn the normal limit.

No ascitis seen

The intraluminal and intrabdominal echo pattersn are within the normal limit

The untrasound features are consistent with degenrating multiple uterine fibroid.

Also, the sizes of the fibroid are
19X19mm
36x36mm
28X28mm
20X20mm
31X31mm

I am single and in my thirties though planning for my wedding this year. Is there any hope of ever getting pregnant. because I was told by the Dr. that since I am not married I cannot go for an operation.

Please also, is there any drug that I can take in order to shrink the fibroid because I learnt it can be shrinked if it is still at its early stage which I cannot really say in my own case.

What are my chances of getting pregnant. Your quick response will be appreacited.

Thanx Doc, please does the drug mentioned have any side effect and how possible is it to get it here in Nigeria.

Hi Kathy, my wife' cycle had been changing since February - 28, 32 and this April 35 days. The irony of it all is that in each month, symptoms of pregnancy were clearly shown. All urine and blood test indicated -ve. In the months of February and March, she experienced a slight bleeding that lasted for about 9 days during her ovulation. This April menstruation had been given her concern as the flow had been much compared to the previous - not in number of days anyway.

Doc., what could be the problem? We are young couple looking forward to getting babies of our own (twins - 2 girls by God grace for a start!) shocked cheesy

Hello Dr.
for a while now, i have noticed that when having intercourse with my spouse, she secretes this whitish substance(almost like sperm) which does not itch her.I have done a fairshare of researching myself and found out some people agree it's normal(that it's a form of lubricant) and some say its not(thrush,infection etc). I have also learnt from my observations that she secretes this whitish substance when she's really Hot.I would really love your opinion.Thanks in advance.

Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 6:10pm On May 22, 2010
@sunshine01
As with any drugs, it does have side effects. essentially any symptoms you can get when you go into menopause. Unfortunately, I don't know where in Nigeria you can get it. You might have some success with asking your gyn

@susanamand
The reason for an evacuation is to prevent your friend from getting sick i.e. infected. There are medical treatments as well but depend on how far along you are.
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 6:13pm On May 22, 2010
@chukz4real
It is not unusual for the days of the menstrual cycle to change. Signs of pregnancy that early are unusual and more likely a reflection of your intense desires. Relax, grab an ovulation kit and make sure your wife is taking prenatal vitamins

@martinsflo
i suggest a trip to your medical doctor. You need a thorough physical exam
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 6:16pm On May 22, 2010
@ nilly
Unfortunately your symptoms are very non specific. I suggest an evaluation with a general doctor

@lovemee
S_ex is determined by your husband. However, there is a theory the Y bearing sperm swim faster than x bearing sperm so having sex on the day of ovulation favors a male child. You could get an ovulation kit to determine your fertile day. Another option is sperm spinning. You would need to go to a fertility specialist for that.
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 6:18pm On May 22, 2010
@pinkie9ja
Sounds like normal discharge to me

@susanamand
Not unusual to occasionally skip a period. However, if it happens again next month, you should go see your gyn
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 6:20pm On May 22, 2010
@boomii
It shouldn't affect your fertility
