@goldenhand There is the belief that if you have sex one the same day you ovulate, you will have a male child because the Y sperm swims faster because it is lighter. Good luck |

@comoibo The pill doesn't affect your future fertility |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 8:38pm On Apr 12, 2008 |
@uptowngirl Don't squeeze your nipples. You are cured. However, if you start having menstrual irregularities. You need to see your gyn. |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 8:39pm On Apr 12, 2008 |
@ cadet Your heavy periods can lead to iron deficiency anemia which would explain your fatigue. You need to see your gyn to check for fibroids. |

@shalata Folic acid is very important in the development of the nervous system. This development is undergoing before a woman realizes that she is pregnant so it is important to have folic acid supplementation as early as possible |

hi Doc, Thanks so much for the good job, you'll cont to grow in God's wisdom. please i have a question, i'm three months preg and i have a wound on my leg which i've been treating and putting streptomycin until i read yesterday that it's not suppose to be used in pregnancy as it caused deafness in the child. how true is this, and what can i use on my wound for quick healing? thanks |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 1:08am On Apr 16, 2008 |
@olababe First take a deep breath, stop using the streptomycin, get to a doctor. The good news is that you were using topical streptomycin. Relax but go to the doctor to take a look at the wound. There are several antibiotics that are safe for use during pregnancy |

Folic acid is very important in the development of the nervous system. This development is undergoing before a woman realizes that she is pregnant so it is important to have folic acid supplementation as early as possible @kathy before or after conception? if its before, how many months before? Either folic acid or multi-vitamins, is six months before conception ridiculous? Just to be on the safe side. |

hi stillwater |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 10:18pm On Apr 21, 2008 |
@oladunni before conception. folic acid is not stored so just start taking the vitamins once you decide to have a baby |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 10:20pm On Apr 21, 2008 |
@f4flakes The "hottest" thing in vitamins right now is DHA or omega acids. We know that there are a lot of benfits to the developing child but also to the mother e.g. reduced risk of preterm labor and preeclampsia. If possible, I would suggest using not just folic acid but a DHA containing prenatal vitamin. |

Anybody know of a good hospital in Lagos. I mean one with good gynaecologist/OB ? Thanks |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 1:41am On Apr 23, 2008 |
@deor03 Your wife, by the story you give about her periods, is likely anovulatory. This means that she doesn't produce and egg monthly. This is easily corrected depending on her age. However, even if this is corrected and you are not around, conception is impossible. I would advise you to prioritize. The yeast infection has no bearing on fertility. If this is the first time, she is one of billions of women. Good luck |
