Re: Rape In Nigeria by TheSly: 2:49am On Jan 10, 2008 |
first thing first! the law must surely take its place! secondly! if the girl (victim) is from a prominent family, then the guys are in deep sh*!, real deep sh*! if the guys are from a prominent family as well. . . .idk but there is still hope accordin' to the naija style bottomline! naija has really changed and 'em guys should be ready to face the wrath of the law! |

That sounds horrendous |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by Gamine(f): 2:56am On Jan 10, 2008 |
They tied her hands and her mouth they threatened to burn her braids if she didnt comply New years Day, no one was around My sisters and i werent even in the country My aunty was the one she was coming to see and she had gone o the palms with some of our family friends, im so pained apparently they had raped before, our security guards told us and they didnt even inform us long time ago And to think one of the rapists has a very good job in an oil company with a veeery nice ride and loads of girls to choose from Should the guards be arrested too? they even tried to help the guys escape, i think the guys gave them money, If this isnt heartlessness, i dont know what else to call it! |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by faketan(m): 3:12am On Jan 10, 2008 |
The oil guy should lose his job first before being jailed. They are rapist but I believe the may not get out of this the babe has no one to speak for her. Even at that, I am sure there are presently good some NGO's that will take that up if it is reported to them. Please do you think the gurls parents can folloew the case up? |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by earthrealm(m): 3:47am On Jan 10, 2008 |
rape is a serious crime in naija, its 17yrs min, hard labour, but if the guys get a good lawyer, it might be hard 2 prove.since the babe might have inadvertently removed the evidence by taking her bath, cos she shud have gone 4 a medical chk up immediatly after the act to establish forced entry n semen deposits, ie if the guys were not protected, but bearing in mind the trauma of the incident,i doubt if she did any such thing, the guys cud be tortured by the police 2 confess, but such a confession wudnt hold in a court of law, men, the heart really goes out to this chic, rape is so so nasty, u wud even see some people supporting the guys saying she seduced them!! if she can, let her go to court |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by Gamine(f): 1:26pm On Jan 10, 2008 |
The girl dosnt even live in lagos, She had just finished secondary school and had come into lag for the hols from warri this act took place at VI I dont know what her parents are doing But my older sisters are tightly on the case, cos these guys lived directly opp us and it could have been any of us. The girls sister took her to the hospital immediately, they have a doctors report and the police was involved as soon as possible. Definately , the guy has lost his job for life! I dont understand the meanness, the heartlessness! Its so gross! Those guys will go to jail on two counts, Kidnapping and Rape! |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by Kemjisuper(m): 2:16pm On Jan 10, 2008 |
Poor girl Coming from such a distance, she should have made adequate preparations for her trip by placing a call or two just to be sure someone was there to receive her. Anyways, it still doesn't absolve those perverted crooks of their crime. It's tragic to even hear of a family friend being raped, let alone the trauma of the rapee. To think that one of the rapists was fairly well-to-do makes it all the more strange. I mean, why would a guy want to substitute a fairly comfortable life for a life of bondage and insecurity because of a shameful act such as rape? I guess both guys were just doomed to fall and the unfortunate girl was in the wrong place at the right time for them. Shame! |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by Gamine(f): 2:36pm On Jan 10, 2008 |
the girl was already staying with her sister in lagos for the hols she just came to visit in my house. No matter what happened it dosnt give anyone the right to rape anyone!!!!!1 im still so pained! God help the poor girl! |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by Seun(m): 2:42pm On Jan 10, 2008 |
I'm happy they were caught. They could easily have escaped with no repercussions. Of course there's no excuse (it's a shame that we have to say that). I hope they rot in jail. |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by faketan(m): 3:08pm On Jan 10, 2008 |
I wish those guys were in Sanfrancisco zoo on the day tatiana escaped the hedges. People like that should relocate to the zoos. It is unfair |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by lailai2(m): 12:46am On Jan 11, 2008 |
thats so sad,i think you should get an NGO involved, i can't remember the name of one that took up a rape case and got a good conviction,i'll get back if i remember, those are the kinda people that deserved to be lynched, and u said one of them was well-to-do, thats really absurd you should be more careful in your area becos most of these people have other colleagues that would be involved |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by faketan(m): 12:56am On Jan 11, 2008 |

Re: Rape In Nigeria by osisi5: 1:03am On Jan 11, 2008 |
This is such a sad story. Gamine you had said something about the guy working in an oil company with loads of girls to choose from. Sadly.rape is not about sex. It's about power, domination and torture It's a crime committed by heartless sick men that belong in the zoo. I feel for this young lady But for God's grace,I would have been her many years ago in Nigeria but God intervened. It would take the Grace of God for that girl to trust anyman ever again I was in that boat after my attack. Sadly rape occurs in Nigeria so frequently and these girls are totally helpless for the most part. Little girls hawking oranges and bananas are constantly raped by would be customers Men constantly rape their house girls Women are harrassed sexually at all levels and nothing is done about it. People may say at least she was not killed but most victims of rape wish they had been killed. Ths is the worst violation a woman can suffer,to have a man forcefully strip your clothes off you, handle you painfully and have his way without your consent. If I had my way, rapists and pedophiles will be castrated an thrown into Nekede zoo in Owerri to feed those starving lions. That's where they all belong, every single one of them. |

Re: Rape In Nigeria by Kemjisuper(m): 3:43pm On Jan 11, 2008 |
Gamine: Here's a suggestion for suitable punishment, How about those guys get raped daily (first thing every morning) by the meanest, gayest cell mates on the jailblock. How they'll wish, |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by faketan(m): 7:18pm On Jan 11, 2008 |
Kemjisuper: I have a watched a movie like that. Men it is the best punishment. +osisi, I know a girl who turned a lesbian because she was serially abused (unfortunately by a priest) while she was 11. She is 45 now and was only able hold on one relationship with a guy(the only guy she could stay alone with ) without being afraid. It is pathetic. |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by Gamine(f): 12:51am On Jan 13, 2008 |
it is very pathetic all i ask is you guys join me in prayers for this young girl cos its totally breaking my heart Thank You! |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by lailai2(m): 1:06am On Jan 13, 2008 |
http://www.un.org/africa/osaa/ngodirectory/dest/countries/Nigeria.htm it contains the info of almost all the NGOs in nigeria and there are lots that deal in women rihts and violations, just go through the list and determine the ones you'll like to contact i can't remeber the name of the other one i was talking about, they were successful in their case, but i'm sure they are also likely to be in the list though i've gone through it and none sound familiar, l8r |

Re: Rape In Nigeria by Gamine(f): 12:27pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
Dont mind that AJ character The Case has even died down now. I dont know where the guys are now but they are out of prison. The last time i went home, their flat was still locked. The girls Parents dropped the case. i just feel so much for the girl this has just made me so grateful for everything thats happened to me |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by almondjoy(f): 6:21pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
efuah: he he he According to Gamine's previous posts, anything wrong with African is the fault of the west. I was just looking for her trouble as usual! The girl dey make me laff. Gamine: I am so happy we understand eachother! Gamine, Gamine! Not to trivialize the subject---there is evil in every society. I wish all the tragic victims in this story, including the rapists, peace. |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by Gamine(f): 9:00pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
yeah, peace to them and to your restless soul May you begin on the path way of telling the truth! |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by havilahade: 9:50pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
d problem we have in naija is dt most women just lyk this particular case often drop d case cos of embarassment dt coms with it.its so painful to hear things lyk this but it gets annoying dt they always drop it.handled a case against a rape victim last year who came out almost a year after when all evidence was unavailable.the guards sld be picked by police for aiding and abetting |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by Gamine(f): 10:01pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
Yeah We thought so to But the police said they couldnt arrest them. I am still very unhappy abt it cos i live in that same building! i just pray for the best! |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by havilahade: 10:51pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
the police indeed cant hold the security guards for aiding and abetting since the culprits dont have any allegations sticking on them.if the girl were ready to take up the case, then they would have a case to answer.holding them would be lyk putting something on nothing and expecting it to stand. i wish we cld stop praying the best alone and start working towards d best |
Re: Rape In Nigeria by Gamine(f): 10:54pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
if d girls parents dropped d case there is notin we can do my sister had even vowed to get the best lawyers that would keep them behind bars for decades! but all we can do is pray, really. |
