good pm my Oga & madam. I'm yet to b given admission into med sch, but right now I in 100l microbiology. I have some few questions pls.

1) shld I finish d microbiology then go for DE into med?

2) I have been hearing of an exam that one write b4 applying med sch in US & another one if its UK, pls I need more info about that or a link to know more about it will b very good.

3) apart from US & UK which other country that on can go do his masters to bcom a neurosurgeon?

4) how many years those it takes to bcom a neurosugeon?

I shld just ask this once for now. when I get d admission into med & sug leta this year by d grace of GOD. I will ask d rest.

1). If you know you have the time and patience to finish four years and you have the capacity to graduate with a first class or a cgpa of atleast 4.0, you are free to carry on with the MCB.
4). With the present change of number of years for medicine (7yrs), it will take about 13-16 years if you start from jamb. (strikes and nysc inclusive)

Precisely, on the 23 March, 2016 after the meeting of the examiners board in my school bordering on the then just concluded part three MB, I was considered proficient enough in the basic medical sciences and rewarded with promotion to part 4. You guys know what that means. I have crossed over to the clinicals where we get to apply all we have been learning in Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Biochemistry. The battle was really bloody.

While I advise my juniors to keep the candles burning I am also calling on my seniors to aid me with words of advice that will facilitate my journey through the impending task which I know is herculean.

To all medical aspirants, I want to say medicine is really worth it. Aspire to acquire what you desire. Do not give in to the people that discourage. The truth is that they have burning passion for medicine but they believe it's beyond their reach. Move with people that share your passion or appreciate it. This will positively reinforce your actions and the probability of success will be augmented. To survive in the college, positive reinforcers are both invaluable and indispensable.

Stay away from people with badbelleistic tendencies. They are your worst enemies. Listen to them :
"I know a doctor, he is my sister's brother's uncle nephew. He is so poor he can't even pay his children school fees"
Imagine hearing this when preparing for almighty Anatomy in part three MB. Your spirit might be weakened and this might be detrimental to your performance.

To my colleagues in UI preparing (or has it started?) for the part three MB (battle, rather) I unleash you. Let out a loud roar and strike them dead with no mercy and come back with positive results, no excuse. Although, your MB is child's play compared to that of the Jerusalem of Struggle and Mecca of Military where I am, fortunately and unfortunately, destined to be.

In 100L you have to equip yourself with strong knowledge in science courses, like; BIO101, 251, 102, 103, Phy, ICH, CSC, MAT etc. Because, if you fail a single course admist these you are automatically out of Medicine, you'd probably look for a course that can absorb you, eg. Zoology, Botany etc.
Meanwhile, even the HODs of these department might find it difficult to absorb.
In 100L in Unizik, Medical students are called "Pre-med", they are even yet to be medical students.

From 200L a person becomes a medical student and a pre-clinical student, meaning that, if you also fail to meet the pass marks for 200L, you can't enter 300L and so on.A step at a time bro, goodluck!!!

I intend to purchase Jamb DE form 2016 and make Unizik my Choice Uni. for Med. Surg.
Can someone enlighten me on the minimum requirements of both the sch and Jamb DE application.

purchase the form first because its out already and wait for the statement of result to come out. which school did you graduate from and what did u graduate with, unizik considers that alot, how is ur waec result, they consider that too. then plus u need to pass their exam. they don't require NYSC discharge certificate.

Lasu hardly accepts second choice aspirants for medical sciences unless your score is very high or u pressed some buttons up @ the top...Besides, Lasu offers MBBS,BDS and Bsc in physiology.its really wise to choose them for first choice if you can still change ur choice of institution
