The cut-off is always 250, and it's not relied on for merit admission. For merit admission, a candidate must score 40 or 50 marks above the 250 depending on the scores of candidates that year. That's to say, a candidate seeking merit admission must have 290 or 300 and above. For indigenes, even 240 will be considered for admission based on local government where he or she hails from in Ebonyi State, and it's normally the best two candidates from each local government will be picked.

With 311 and this O'level there's quite a big chance she will make it into Udusok. Kogi is part of her well recognised ELD states.
Also if she can do better than 311 in ABU post utme, there is fair chance for her too - I learnt many Kogites are in ABU.
Have you guys consider UniMaid or ATBU? UniMaid is quite strong, I don't know much about ATBU tho.
In the west, I'd primarily suggest LASU. I have forgotten how the screening is calculated but there's no post utme - you can make enquiries about it as only O'level and Utme score is needed. ( since she's not a lagosian, I'll advise her to opt out if her screening aggregate is not in the north of 80%).
OOU is also a good school, one of the top state owned institutions with a good medical school, fees are kinda expensive but admission isn't too competitive.
UniMed, Ondo is also another choice, state owned and expensive too but admission isn't too strict here. I have no idea about this school current accreditation status.
EBSU, ESUT, UNIZIK are my top recommendations if you want to head Southern part of Nigeria.
I won't recommend UNN, UniBen, Delsu, OAU, Unilag, Unijos but if she wants to try any of them, she's good to go but I won't advice my sister to choose any.

Why do you say you won't advise someone to choose Unijos?

I am curious. I pick the school.

She's tried. However, when talking about UI MBBS, the score's kinda low.
If she can't score at least 83 in the post utme, advise her to change to a less competitive sch. The fact that she is from Kogi gives her an 'upper hand' too. If she is ready to give it all it takes, she will definitely make it. Tell her not to become complacent.
Shalom.

You mean 311 is too low for UI MBBS?

In all you do,do not apply unijos. My guy with 310 was sent to geology while someothers were admitted with lower scores.
Unilorin competition is fierce and she might be sent to other departments.

You're right.
Unijos will not look at that score twice.
Seriously, I don't understand what is happening in Unijos currently. Since the coming of this VC, things has really changed, coupled with the fact that post utme was scraped. During my time, once you have a decent score in post utme, you're very sure of admission... People with 72% even got merit. But now, everything is chaotic. You need to have an extremely good results, before you will get in, unless you're an indigene or catchment area. Stay away from Unijos if your score is less than 320, if not... You will cry.

The said guy who had 310 last year and was moved to geology and mining is my friend. However, he merited the admission. He was only unfortunate because his slot was used up by someone who had longer legs from his state.

The issue i'm pointing at is that, UNIJOS is not a death trap as though it were announced to be...

Let your 5 relevant O/L subjects be littered with A's and B's coupled with an impressive UTME score, you'll find yourself in!

And lastly, no forgetting the God factor as Ultimate

Well since you want nursing and your jamb score is kinda low for federal uni why not try school of nursing in your area. But trust me the fee will be huge

There's nothing like that. MBBS has same status in all that schools have full accreditation.
