NDLEA gets Approval To RECRUIT 15000


Minister of Justice and the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has said the federal government has approved the recruitment of 5000 staff in the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA), in addition to 10,000 in2017.Malami, who spoke at the ECOWAS ministers meeting, said there are plans by the federal government to improve the capacity of the agency inrelation to fighting crimes in the region. Malami, who urged member countries’ ministers to adopt the new ECOWAS Regional Drug Action Plan, forthe year 2016-2020, said it provides a roadmap and working document for the ECOWAS drug control team.Commending Nigeria’s effort to tackledrug trafficking at the national level, the ECOWAS director in charge of Drug Control, Sintiki Ugbe, said Nigerian government has shown political commitment by approving therecruitment of workers to widen the NDLEA capacity and further develop anational drug control master plan.“We see and applaud that kind of political commitment in the region. Wealso want to see the translation of political commitment into real actions,” Ugbe said.

A friend of mine told me today he was ask to bring a police report to Nscdc office at abuja.He said this replacement is going to be for few lucky ones and not massive,that they will be called in batches.

In NSCDC, promoted officers have not been paid their allowances since they were confirmed. They are wearing their uniform and their new rank indicating that they have been promoted, but the stipulated amount for such post have not been paid.
They have been fighting for it, no recruitment or replacement until they have been paid which is likely to take place by October.
This is the information i gathered from the state command when I visited it on friday.
May God save us because there is trouble everywhere in the country.
