This is a very big lesson to cowardise Nigeria and Nigerians in general. Una see patriotism ? .. They didn't even sell Bakassi; Bakassi was dashed out on a platter of gold and because we fear like babies we fear to fight even small Cameroon ; everybody kept quiet. And some people still have d effrontery to post rubbish here. Shame on us all. Lets learn from this and speak out for Bakassi.

apparently the diayou islands that is at the centre of this dispute have oil and gas deposits - to be honest i dont blame the chinese for responding like this - who could ever forgive the japanese for how they rap.ed and massacred an entire population of 300,000 chinese in the city of nanking?

the japanese are a brutal race and if they had not been defeated by the americans would have wiped out entire populations in china, korea and other asian countries with resources due to their beleif that they are a superior race. they beheaded, bayonetted, machine gunned women and children and wiped out every single male they found alive in that town, they bayoneted BABIES during their murderous conquest of china in 1937:

These demonstrations are quite unnecessary and destroying property of innocent and law-abiding citizens of other countries, resident in ur country, whom u are supposed to protect, is simply idiotic!

sorry China is the second largest economy get your facts right sir
islam_is_evil_:

Japan is still the second largest economy in the world.

They can probably have nuclear weapons within 30 or 40 days if they put their mind to it.

And they are BFF with the current top dog, the USA. So if you fight Japan, you are also fighting the US.

If China picks a fight with Japan, they'll be fvcked.

There are two groups of people who I think it would be unwise to rile up...Germans and Japanese. Whoever decides to wake up either of those sleeping giants is a fool, in my opinion.

America will never allow the "awakening" of a "sleeping" Japan. They will continue to administer enough dose of sleeping pills to keep them asleep forever.

Wrong line of thought dude. If China represent the new big threat to the West, the US will gladly support the re-awakening of a dormant Japan to counter China.

The people of Japan are extremely proud and domineering people (u need to visit Japan to fully understand dis). The two wars they fought with China were both surprised wars because unlike no that they have the diaoyu islands as reason for conflict they didn't ve any reason to attack China in the 2 wars and for the second war, Japan attcked China when there was a major civil war going on in China.

It is true Japan had one of the best navy and airforce before n during d 2nd world war but most of their military machines then were built by the Germans (the true sleeping world power)but China have been building its military itself in the last 40yrs and bros today their military is third only to usa n russia.

However I wld prefer they solve the issue thru dialogue sha cos a war btw those two will draw in a lot of countries and set the world economy back a lot.

Peace.

Ee don't have to fight people over an island. We don't need millions to die over an island. We don't have to copy japan and china. Or the folklands. We are just depopulating our populatiin and making it easier for us to be exterminated. Divide and conquer. The indigenous americans were divided and conquered. Who has the land now? We must learn from history and stop killing each and unite.

No they were not subjugated. They were defeated and they surrendered. The US occupied parts of Japan for a while, like Okinawa and departed after so years. The japs were not prevented from militarizing, they just hand a change of heart, and channelled their resources and capability to good use. However Germany was subjugated and sort of monitored by the world powers, Japan still has the right and the means to develop nuclear weapons. They have a powerful military and they are equipped. They just don't have nuclear war systems. However, they have nuclear technology and they have mastered it.

After the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan decided from been and aggressor and willing chose to refrain for powering up. Go and read up instead of making noise.

@ post. This is some serious shift o. This is not gonna end well at all.
But why is china fighting everybody and claiming lands around them all of a sudden? Abi too much power bad?

True. U don't know how much the west wanna lease china and change their government. They will willingly join the japs because when communism begins to grow economical and becomes a regional power, that's bad news.

However, remember that Japan is a nuclear power. They just don't have weaponized technology

Story aint true bob. It was known to be a hoax from china won't deliberately engineered the stories to direct attention away from some atrocities carried during that period. Go and read extensible about it.

CGKing:

Meaning of subjugate:
Bring under domination or control, esp. by conquest

Yet you said this:
No they were not subjugated. They were defeated and they surrendered

You should have done yourself a favor and look up the meaning of "subjugate" before making a grand f00l of yourself with contradictory statements.

Your user name tells me you suffer from some sort of grandiosity. Add that to ignorance; and it will only end up badly for you. Japan does not have an Army; it is no argument, it is fact. What they have is what is referred to as "Civil Defense" in most countries (including Nigeria). As you advised me to read, I will now help you by going a step further with a link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Self-Defense_Forces

All SDF personnel are technically civilians: those in uniform are classified as special civil servants and are subordinate to the ordinary civil servants who run the Ministry of Defense. There are no military secrets, military laws, or offenses committed by military personnel; whether on-base or off-base, on-duty or off-duty, of a military or non-military nature, are all adjudicated under normal procedures by civil courts in appropriate jurisdictions.

If you don't like Wikipedia, just go to the references and follow the links to educate yourself.

Another link: http://www.cfr.org/japan/japan-its-military/p10439

The japs were not prevented from militarizing, they just hand a change of heart, and channelled their resources and capability to good use.
Quite funny. Yes, they had a change of heart indeed. It took 2 nuclear bombs to have such a change of heart I tell ya. But to say they were not prevented from militarizing exposes your gross ignorance. Anyway, read all the articles I have helped you with. Even their constitution written after the war was supervised by the Allies. Mugu.
