I have heard a lot of talk about a cover letter needing to be handwritten. Is it really compulsory or can it also be typewritten? Need advice from professionals or from nairalanders with experience.

Except your CV is handwritten I dont see why you should write a cover letter by hand. If I was assessing an application I would not understand why a candidate would send in a handwritten cover letter along with a typeset CV, it would look weird.

Also, now that you would send a lot of job applications online or or by email, hand writing a cover letter is out of the question.

I don't believe this handwritten vs typed cover letter uncertainty is worth bothering over man, it's a no brainer.
