Ok my Christian & Muslim brothers & sisters,time for some reality check.
Imagine for a minute you were God wielding unlimited powers.
You decide for some reason that the people on planet earth need guidance for their own good. Do you
A. Appear before one person in a vision,give him/her secret information & hope they pass it on correctly without additions or subtractions. Or
B. Appear before the masses & tell them direct. Thereby proving your existence beyond doubt & at the same time ensuring they get the right message.
2. You wish to have your laws continued forever,do you
A. Tell them once & dissappear for a couple thousand years or more. Or
B. Make regular appearances to reinforce belief.
3. You care for these people (afterall you created them) so when you see things going terribly wrong,do you
A. Sit back & watch the fun or
B. Step in with some timely advice.
4. You have unlimited powers,you can create the world any you deem fit. Do you
A. Make the climate changeable & unpredictable,thus resulting in the death of millions through,floods,drought,tsunamis,hurricanes etc. Or do you
B. Make the climate stable so that the population can grow their crops & feed themselves.
Please respond as honestly as you can & do not regurgitate that old standby phrase reserved for all tricky questions: God's work is beyond our understanding. Or God's ways are not our ways. Thank you very much

it's pretty much how it is now.
i believe the first humans were given knowledge about where we came from and were given the task to abide by the force/s and inform their children. Like a game of telephone the message has become distorted. Now we have confusion. Since God designed us with individual minds/personalities, obviously it was ordained that we would have "nay sayers" and divisions. After all if we were all the same, what would be the purpose of human life?

Same thing one must ask about God making constant appearances to prove existence. If that were the case where would the faith be? Would we not just live fearing him/her's wrath rather than believe and live based on positive hope and faith?

So in a nut shell I would do the same thing God is doing now.
Create, inform a few, and kick back and watch my work unfold.

In fact this reminds me of of the move "Immortals" where the Supreme God (Zeus) told his children not to interfere with the lives of the mortals unless summoned. I think the Greeks were spot on as far as the concept of how God works is concerned. It seems that is exactly how it is in real life.

You have a point,but even if God still shows himself,those athiest I know on nairaland would still not change,afterall from the knowledge of His work we shall know Him.

How do you mean if he "shows" himself then atheists will still not believe? How do you know this? Or maybe he really wouldn't show himself in a clear cut manner but again through possible loopholes and dodgy prophets?

Their are enough evidence to support is existence,if you cant beleive He exists now what else give me the assurance you will beleive even if He appears(am not commenting on this thread again),even when Jesus was here on earth(even His own didnt beleive him),so I know even If He shows Himself ,you and your other friends will still find an excuse like,probably it's an illusion or probably a creation of your imagination.
