Owerri is the only state capital in Nigeria where the state governor uses the federal allocations of the state and its local government areas to build only on the state capital, building 8 lane streets, road tunnels and flyovers where simple roundabout would have been okay in Owerri, while rest of Imo state decays. This is unconstitutional and illegal. Federal allocations of Aboh Mbaise, Okigwe, Orlu, Oguta, etc lgas in Imo state MUST NOT be utilized on building modern infrastructure on Owerri, while those lgas go dry and on "it's alright." 2 Likes 1 Share |

agaba77: I think the REAL HATERS are those who applaud the Imo state governor that collects federal allocations meant to develop 27 lgas of his state, but the governor destroys what already exists in the state capital and uses nearly 95% of those local govts allocations to build his own style in the state capital. Meanwhile, the rest of Imo state decays; the REAL HATERS are not interested over the decadence in the rest of Imo state. 3 Likes |

akanuson: Typical Owerri fellow. You need to establish private industries in Owerri to attract population and wealth and mega city status for Owerri. Not use of allocations meant for development of 27 lgas to build development infrastructures only in Owerri, while the rest of Imo state outside Owerri remain many civilizations behind Owerri. Unknown to him, the present Imo governor who shares your view has been going against the spirit of the country's constitution. 1 Like |

So Gov. Okorocha knew that state govt can construct federal projects and ask fed. govt for refunds? Since Okorocha became governor, the Imo state Section of Ihialla-Orlu Federal road crumbled, nearly impassable. FERMA is only on repair, not reconstruction, job now. For six years, the failed road paralyzed business in lgas of Orsu, Orlu, Ideators, Njaba, Nkwerre, Nwangele, etc, - more than 2.5 million people rendered useless. Orlu goes to Onitsha, not to Owerri, for business Now our governor is building federal airport. How NOT to govern a state. 1 Like |

Abagworo: Owerri-Orlu road to lead to Eastern Palm Uni Ogboko. Big chances exist of losing the Ogboko-Orlu section of the Orlu-Akokwa road in near future without completing Orlu urban drainage system of about 800meters of gutter. The Ogboko to Orlu section of the road usually fails like a pack of cards through floods from Orlu. In the 1980s, 1990s and in 2012, the same road collapsed - deep crater; cut connection between Orlu and Ideato areas. If you are friend to Gov. Rochas, tell him to complete the Orlu urban drainage gutter to the nearby stream; as started by the Israeli construction company (TechnoTransfer) under former gov. Ikwechegh. If the Orlu-Akokwa road collapses, very few persons in Orlu, except Ideato ppl living in Orlu, may even know. 1 Like |

Abagworo: Pls let the video show the slope/gradient on the road from Orlu to Ogboko junction regarding how huge floods from Orlu empty on the road. A few months ago, Okorocha reminded the public in a video that his govt is yet to complete Orlu urban drainage system. But how can he do it now that he is deeply immersed with very expensive Owerri projects? If the Orlu urban drainage system is not completed, and the Orlu-Ogboko road fails as usual, the myth of Ogboko ever becoming a suburb of Orlu cannot fly. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by discusant: 3:56pm On Apr 24, 2017 |
Abagworo: Video of Orlu for what? Okorocha postponed development of Orlu by many many decades ahead, by denying the town what it deserves now, and for which Orlu people gave him highest number of votes in 2011. Okorocha expanded about three main roads in Orlu town which directly lead to Ideato, the rest of township roads in Orlu are a disaster. Video them also. Worse crime of Okorocha govt in Orlu is watching the dilapidation of urban roads built by previous govts in the town; no maintenance. Lga office should have maintained those roads if Okorocha allowed them their allocations. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqqlyhIxUMc What a politician!!!!! This is Rochas Okorocha in 2010 telling people of Orlu that if not the University Teaching Hospital established in Orlu, there was nothing else Imo state government had in Orlu. But last October, the same Okorocha established a committee to relocate the same teaching hospital to Owerri, after he had done everything for five years to deny life to the institution. 2 Likes |
