Abagworo: I don't think your last assertion is true. I was at home for few days during Emeka's period and saw some road construction works he was doing, but it wasn't posted here. I also visited Technical College, at Afor-Ogbe area and saw some works going on there, but it also wasn't posted here. It wasn't because there was no work going on, it was because people like you that were supposed to be non-partisan actually didn't post any of the works. Thanks 3 Likes 1 Share |

But, please what happened to the underground tunnels built by Rochas, I haven't heard anything about them for a while? On a side note: Please, who has idea about cost of a mini-flat at Udenwa's estate? Is the area safe? Thanks 1 Like |

Imolites whom are billionaires are not trying at all i mean non of them, they ought to lead the way in this regards then other nigeria will follow. It took a fulani man from kwara to open refinery business, while a former governorship aspirant is building the same in lagos. In wealthy imolites eyes, imo state is unfit for serious investment. 2 Likes |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Yampotatocarrot(m): 4:49pm On May 16, 2020 |
seankafor: Well, every state has something that works for them. Imo has decided to pick the hospitality business and it is working for them. Let me add that putting aside personal bias, some of the hotels in Imo state will stand side-by-side with major hotels in Lagos. Only thing they don't have yet is *a known brand*, which I believe they are working on. We should note that the presence of hospitality has opened business for other sectors such as agriculture sector.. So, I don't think there is anything wrong with Imo state being a hub for hospitality in the south east 1 Like |

sanctity454: True! Imo and Abia high networth sons and daughters are just not doing as much in their states as those from Anambra! Unlike with Anambra where i can mention at least 10 multi-millionaires and billionaires engaged in the aku luo uno initiative, i struggle to think of even 5 for Imo or Abia! I do recall one that built a spectacular baroque-style mansion in Lagos, and the Geometric power station in Aba, but that’s about it! Of course there’s the mid-budget investments scattered all over these two states, but besides the Aba power station, there’s nothing to point to that can be said to be a game changer! 3 Likes |

Yampotatocarrot:Nnam ukwu, you say hospitality, the investors in hospitality industry are imolites multi millionaires whom are based especially in Asia countries, mention any hotel in imo state that worth 4bn naira. Please don't sugar coat it, they have failed imo state. Is there any single investment championed by an imolite worth 5bn in imo state? 2 Likes |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Maadoo: 5:28pm On May 16, 2020 |
seankafor: Ignorance is a bad thing 1) First of all, no factory will be sited in owerri, except at the outskirts. Government will have to create an industrial zone if there is none. Places like Oguta, ohaji, Awonmama, Mgbidi, Obinze,Naze are fertile zones for industries. 2) The hotels/ Clubs/Bars/Restaurants/ Malls/ Grocery stores/ etc in owerri make up the Hospitality/leisure/Recreational industry. The same way buses(both long distance and intercity), plane, bikes, keke all make up the transport industry. So yes, building an hotel or any of the mentioned is not a waste. People were employed in building them, an architect drew the building plan, someone sold the land, supplied the sand, cement, wood, stones gravel etc. And in running the hotel also, people will be employed as well as other affiliated service will be created 3) Building a power generator is the DUTY of the federal government, not even the state government can. 4) A world class stadium is not a bad idea, but who will build it? Who will use it? Who will maintain it? Does owerri have a competitive advantage in sports and sport affiliated businesses? And who makes the final decision in building such a facility, Government or the private investor? 5) Finally, all states or cities, don’t have to be factory zones. Let Anambra and Abia continue with their factory development, while Ebonyi focus on agriculture and solid minerals. After working and making money, then come down to Owerri or Enugu to enjoy your money. If we build factories in all our cities, we are still going to be the ones to complain about Air and water pollution sometimes in the future. How many factories do you have in Dubai, yet people troop there for work and leisure? Use you head and stop exposing your ignorance. For every hotel or mall or supermarket or whatever that is built, value have been added to the economy of the state, just as value of land have increased.if nigeria was a working country where policies are consistent and functional, do you know how much money can be made from taxes on land use, asides taxes from businesses? 7 Likes |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Maadoo: 5:41pm On May 16, 2020 |
IGBOSON1: I really don’t think so, I’m very sure many of those factories/companies in nnwei or in Aba are not owned by Anambarians or Abians, to which many will be owned by Imo indigenes too. Investors look for where they will enjoy economics of scale as well. I’m aware Tummy Tummy noddles factory is based in Anambra but the owner of Tummy Tummy is from Imo state, same as orange drugs have a factory in Onitsha, but he is from Imo state. ABC transport is the biggest brand in transport and Cargo in Nigeria today, he is also from Imo. So please, we need to drop these complains, afterall, the investor did his viability and feasibility research, to know which will generate for him the most return on investment, before investing his capital. An imolite can have a tissue paper or soap manufacturing company in Nnewi and build his hotel in owerri. It works well. 2 Likes |
