Amah70: Lol. When you become too emotional, you sound unintelligent. We understand your passion for orlu, but how does putting to practice elements of western education prevent chaos any where in the world?. Learn how to stick to arguements so you don't sound like a comedian. Check throughout my submissions, i have always remained consistent that the pattern of "Projects" has all shades of western education, that's not to say, Hope uzodinma is perfect in all round governance... I also maintained that He comes tops of his predicessors with reasons no one dare to counter but making generalized statements of long time governance in Imo State. 1 Like |

Ofodirinwa:I have lived in America and in Europe. The public roads, public water supply projects, public schools, for example, in America have government contributions to their establishment; but may be managed by private companies. If the dim witted people in Imo state want to continue to have state governors who put the federal allocations of the 27 LGAs, and the state, into building Owerri; because the dim witted people don't want any government development in Orlu (and of course, in other towns in Imo state outside Owerri); people of Imo State will choke in Owerri before long. The trouble in Owerri is already there. Visit the ghettos of concrete buildings in the once rural areas near Owerri, some don't even have access roads. The ghettos emerged because governors of Imo state didn't want, don't want, to provide urban renewal in Orlu and Okigwe zones. They built and build only in Owerri. Dim witted people in Imo state clap for the governors. 2 Likes |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Broveens42(m): 11:06am On Jun 07, 2023 |
Amah70: When the government wants to build a road at awomamma, we'll still be the ones to criticize them about how 'relevant roads' ain't good enough project. The reason you call some countries developed, is because they don't have your wack mentality of calling even the smallest of quality projects (roads) a poor achievement. Black people are really very funny set. I could remember those days as kids I would wave at a video camera, they would hit my hand and call me a bush man but you see the whites wave at the camera during special events like the world cup. What makes a project is relevance, no matter how little, but set the standards high. You wouldn't know the wonders the aggregates of such projects would achieve. Private individuals should be encouraged to tar their street roads through contributions or even form NGOs to seek interventions. Estate developers, state institutions, Secretariat annex can be encouraged by government to explore orlu and okigwe zones. Of course, security is of the essence, if such long term vision in Imo State is to be achieved. But I'm very certain, that pockets of areas in many LGA'S in Imo, are becoming more urbanized. When you come to my villa and maternal home today, you will see visitors living on rents and in their numbers. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Amah70: 12:48pm On Jun 07, 2023 |
Broveens42: Private developers build streets, extend gas and water pipelines, extend electricity to their private estates. Imo State Government is supposed to build such urban and rural roads that are in Orlu, Okigwe and Owerri as well as in some other rural centres in Imo state. But in Imo state, government builds even the private roads in only Owerri that private estate developers are supposed to build, as well as builds the urban roads in only Owerri federal Constituency. Citizens of Owerri federal Constituency enjoy their saved money and can holiday all year round. But the people living in Orlu, and probably other urban centres in Imo state, have no more internal roads to move on; or they build and repair their own internal roads. This foul play in Imo state started since 2007. |

Broveens42: Can you stop talking rubbish please?! Where are the standard projects constructed by Hope? Can you list them? You even mentioned streetlight and T-junction design as his achievement, really? Something that is already taken for granted in many places across Nigeria. Go to Lagos, Kaduna etc. That's how roads are now designed! Even Fireservice traffic light that spoilt since is yet to be fixed! He demolished an aesthetically beautiful IICC only to start building what looks like a hut?! Despite the enormous space in that place and how strategically located it is. If he knows he couldn't build something spectacular, why demolish the one Rochas built? You guys are extremely wicked to be supporting evil o. Anyways, if Hitler and Tinubu can have supporters, why not Hope. Spits! 5 Likes |

proeast: Lol. Emotional beings... Why won't an already dilapidating ICC be demolished? You guys sound so funny. But I'm really surprised you haven't asked the present governor to demolish the remaining artificial palm and erect his. Go Google hope uzodinma's achievement for over 3 years, compare with what's on ground and give your verdict if he didn't beat 12 years and 7 months of Rochas/ohakim/Ihedioha. I have done an on the spot assessment by visiting the once dreaded Relief market road. You see how organized that market is now, that's one of the little things that contribute to development. It's no rocket science. Stop making development seem as if you must develop Ballistic missiles and defense systems..lol It is within your rights to dislike someone, just like I do not like any Imo governor from 1999 till date... But you can't deny facts based on comparisons |

You mean Hope's achievements are so big that people in Imo State can't see it unless they Google it Imo state is far richer than Ebonyi state, but go to that state and see the wonders Umahi did. I can help you to list a random few I can remember now: University. 12 flyovers. Airport. Shopping mall. International market and so many others! Can you list the things Hope has done for Imo State? Tinubu has supporters and is loved by many because he has touched lives positively. Ask ur self, what is ur relevance to ur society? Have u ever impacted positively on anybody before u start spewing rubbish with ur mouth, u call people "wicked", where as u are the wicked one here. Let me advise u, for the fact u don't like somebody doesn't mean u should always speak ill of the person even when he does something to be applauded for, tell ursef the truth, ur hatred for Hope is because he is of the Apc, kill spirit of bitterness in u so that God will also bless u. |

Broveens42: Comparing sweet oranges with grape, is like comparing former govs of Imo state with Hope Uzodinma. 1) You don't seem to recognise the number of Imo youths murdered under Uzodinma government; never happened in any other administration in Imo state. 2) no other governor of Imo state until Hope Uzodinma closed down modern development in the other urban and rural centres in Imo state, but pretending to be governor of state capital. 1 Like |

This is what I was trying to let someone understand, without undergoing endless debates, Imo state receives allocation for 27 lga, more than double that of Ebonyi with 13 lga, Imo receives crude oil 13% derivatives, Imo has more natural resources and industries generating revenue than Ebonyi. Both governors were in APC, yet despite these advantages, Hope in 4 yrs did not commence or complete any major project for the state, something the people can always relate to him in years to come. Our recent gas earnings have been very private, no public information on that. What exactly is hope doing in my state for 4 years? proeast: 2 Likes |

rtdCivilservant: You're completely bereft of common sense! Just look at the senseless trash you wrote here. The fact that people like Tinubu and Hope are your role models show the kind of person you are. Tinubu with all his terrible baggages is ideal to you? Someone like him won't even be allowed to hold a sensitive political post in sane climes. To show how stupid and unreasonable you are, you said I don't like Hope because he is in APC. Yet I gave you an example of a great performer by mentioning Umahi. Is Umahi not in APC? If Hope can perform close to what Umahi did for Ebonyi, I will sing his praises! Any soceity that has people like you in majority will always remain backward. SMH. 3 Likes |

Broveens42: Are you even educated? Do you have enough common sense to reason objectively? What has emotion got to do with this? If anything, you're the one being emotional. There is what is called peer review in governance, as with other things. I didn't compare Hope with governors of very rich states rather I used a much poorer state like Ebonyi, and listed the outstanding things Umahi did for them. Even with far less resources at his disposal. If you're not emotional and petty, you would have countered the projects I listed for Umahi with the ones Hope did, so we can compare objectively. But because you know your principal has nothing significant to show, you started beating about the bush. 1 Like |

rtdCivilservant: You're still talking garbage! There is a general consensus both in Ebonyi and outside that Umahi did a great job. Umahi is the best governor they've had since their state was created. He is their own version of Mbakwe. Imo people are not stupid by criticizing their leaders and demanding for good governance, rather it shows they're enlightened and intelligent to know what is best for them! On the contrary, characters like you that sing the praises of politicians even when they're mediocre are evil. So, asking you to mention the things Hope has done for Imo State means criticizing unconstructively? Are you people normal at all? You're not even doing Hope any good by using these poor lines of argument. If I'm Hope, I will sack you guys for not knowing your jobs. List the things our governor has done for the state or shut up! 4 Likes |

Ofodirinwa: OHAKIM, every time I think of Imo state, I wonder why we used sentiments to remove that man... Where are those priests who campaigned against him, hope they are enjoying now? He remains the best Imo has had in recent years, even though he spent just one tenure... Go to Douglas and those dirty roads now, then imagine how those places were, for Owerri to have won the cleanest city in Nigeria many times through his clean and green initiative We lost a good leader when we removed him...I pray God gives us a second chance and the patience to allow the leader he'll give us settle down and get to work 1 Like |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Amah70: 10:34am On Jun 09, 2023 |
Vboot1:The type of education these flyover governors had, despite the level explains their acts in office. As well as the governors, a lot of citizens don't know that flyovers are a great nuisance; and that no good city planner can think of building flyover on any junction unless there is absolutely no other method to control traffic on that junction. Ohakim and Rochas were chased about by some Imo people into building unnecessary flyovers. They asked Ohakim and Rochas to "build us a state capital like Dubai, future governors shall look into development in Orlu and Okigwe." Since 2007, except the uncompleted urban renewal projects started by Okorocha govt in some towns outside Owerri, it has been governors demolishing and rebuilding and demolishing to rebuild in Owerri till today. 3 Likes |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by SmartPolician: 3:46pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
Yampotatocarrot: Please stop mentioning Ohakim because that man was a terrible governor whose only achievement for four years was clean and green. In truth, if Rochas Okorocha was building quality projects, no recent Imo governor would have come close to his achievements. Rochas did outstanding infrastructural projects, but they were mostly of low quality - not all though. Rochas came with lofty ideas, opened new universities, created new roads where none existed before, built hospitals across all the LGAs, discovered the Naze industrial cluster, built estates, rev up property market in Owerri, made Imsu the most affordable state university in Nigeria, built classroom blocks across every ward in Imo State. Furthermore, I don't want to even mention the international conference center, bridge, tunnel, police headquarters...I can go on and on. Nobody can match this record. As far as I am concerned, Imo State hasn't had a governor in the past four years as Hope Uzodinma is a complete waste of time. 3 Likes |
