One of the 10-member armed robbery gang that shook Lagos three Sundays ago has told why they were ruthless. During the attack, three policemen and three civilians were killed. Members of the gang were paraded yesterday at the state police headquarters, Ikeja by the Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko. The suspects are Uche Okeagbu, Emmanuel Ezeani and Chinonso Nwaugwu, all aged 23.

Recovered from the suspects were two buses which had specially fitted compartment for arms and ammunition storage. Found on the buses were two rocket propellers, grenade launchers, five dynamites with a detonator, two general purpose machine guns, nine AK 47 riffles, 225 AK 47 magazines fully loaded, 260 rounds of GPMG live ammunition and 10,000 rounds of live AK 47 ammunition. Okeagbu who confessed that he fully participated in the bloody Sunday robbery said; “We usually target 10 robbery operations at a stretch.

We don’t just strike but after our operations, we normally travel out of the country for sometime until the dust settles. He said “on that fateful Sunday, we had the people we targeted for the operation but we misfired.” Continuing, he said those killed had tried to disturb their operations. “We became ruthless when some people tried to block our ways but the policemen we killed were on their own. But we hate seeing the police because they are our enemies.”

He advised members of the public to always run away when they sight armed robbers during operations.” “Whenever people see armed robbers, they should not try to stop them because anything can happen. Learn lesson from those that we killed that Sunday. They tried to stop us but we stopped them first. You know our business is between life and death, so we don’t joke with those who want to stop us.”

Okeagbu revealed that after the Lagos robbery, they ran to Kwara State. “We robbed some banks, that was four days after the Lagos attack. We also attacked a police station. We took over the police station before we robbed the banks.” “When we got to the police station, we fired sporadically into the station and all the policemen on duty took to their heels and we moved to the Divisional Police Officer’s (DPO) office, we met him in the office, and he was confused on what was going on, so we told him that we were armed robbers and that our members were robbing in the bank.

We warned him to cooperate with us and he said no problem. He offered us seats and we stayed with him until one of our members came and told us that they were through. We left him panting.” He refuted the report making round that one of their members was a woman. “No, no, no, he is a man but he has big breasts like that of a woman.

He is very fat. He is a man.” The Commissioner of Police (CP) Umar Manko who paraded the suspects said on September 23, operatives of the State Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), led by its commander, Mr. Abba Kyari, acting on a tip-off, stormed Kemba-Hausa area of Ajangbadi where the suspects were arrested. Manko said during interrogation, Okeagbu led the police to their armoury, two buses where the arms and ammunition were concealed.

He noted that whenever the gang was operating, they would drive the buses to the location, park in front of their target places and after operations, they would buy bags of garri or any other goods and use them to cover the mask where their evil weapons were hidden. He revealed that one of the gang’s operational vehicles also has a sensor, which the robbers used in monitoring their back while escaping from the robbery scene.

Manko who was elated by the big catch said, “When the robbers struck, I vowed to fish them out. Efforts are still high to making sure that we arrest other members of the gang who are on the run.” One of the suspects Nwua Ugwu who was shouting on top of his voice said, “I did not follow them that Sunday. I am not denying being a member but that Sunday, I swear, I did not go with them. They only sent me money for recharge card.”

the main thing to ponder is "what will happen to these cold-blooded and savage killers"? From the way they are talking, they don't sound like they fear any impending justice. Perhaps they know something we don't . Afterall this is the same country where Boko Haram killers are freed , in large numbers, and told to go and sin no more. I think these guys are talking like those who know the 'system', evil and rotten to the core, will make them free men soon.

When the vermin are under the influence of the demons that posses them during their operations, the act as if they are larger than life. As soon as they are caught they become timid like some rain beaten mice and start blabbing like parrots. Scums of the earth! I believe your dear mothers will be so proud! angry. I don't wish you immediate death. I wish you slow suffering (like you brought to the families that you maimed and killed their loved ones), in a dingy, rats infested cell, for the rest of your miserable lives. angry. Sorry everyone but this is disgusting!

90% of armed robbers in Nigeria are from south east. They are known to be desperate and worship money. Yet, you see fools shouting and claiming "we are more industrious" than others.

They will leave their wretched region and start terrorising peace loving people in south west. I pray that my brothers realizes this in time and deport more leeches back home. Just imagine what these animals are doing after leaving their homes?

I know what you meant but its asinine to expect others to help you ibos seperate from the country, especially those that

you are fond of labelling "cowards". The only aid you going to get from my ilk is a BROOM to sweep any vestige of "bad rubbish" from our region,

you are quite a comedian, ain't you? On the one hand you claimed not to be condoning armed robbery but in the same breadth, you are lionising those who goes about robbing and killing innocent nigerians in their quest for quick money. They even went as far as kidnapping school bus laden with kids as young as 10yrs old and kidnapping aged grandmothers in their various villages, too. These are the MO of those you are glorifying.

This is all the more reason why i believe Fashola should deport more ibos from lagos and i hope other SW governors take note, too. Lagos was a serene and lovely city till you ibos migrated to the city, after the civil war with your dastardly and evil ways to make money.Look what the city has been turned into now, by you ibos.

Prophet leads robbery gang
Operates in Lagos, Sagamu, Ogbomoso
From NGOZI UWUJARE, Ibadan
Less than a month after tying the nuptial knot with his heart-throb, an Ogbomosho-based prophet has been arrested for alleged armed robbery. Residents of the ancient Oyo State city were shocked when Prophet Tunde Adeyinka, who also double as prayer warrior, was apprehended by the police. The satanic cleric who belonged to a white garment church had wedded Bunmi on June 29, 2012, exactly 30 days before he was unmasked.

A gang of five suspected armed robbers were Arrested
A gang of five suspected armed robbers, who were granted amnesty last year, has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command in connection with several other robbery attacks. Also, many ex-convicts or robbery suspects, who were released on bail by courts, were among other suspected criminals paraded by AIG Tambari Muhammed at the Eleyele Headquarters of the command.

While parading the suspects, the new AIG, who, until his promotion was the state Commissioner of Police, said the “robbery origin of the gang dates back to their prison days. The five-man alliance started after they were granted amnesty and released from prison and thereafter, it has been terror for Ibadan residents.”

He gave the names of the suspects as Lukman Rafiu, Benjamin Ojo, Adebayo Adeniyi, Wasiu Adegoke and Muniru Adigun. He said Segun Kehinde and Rafiu were charged to court for murder in 2007, but granted amnesty and released in 2011

Pastor ,2 Others Arrested For Armed Robbery In Ibadan

The long white robe with a sign of cross at the front that Tunde Adeyinka had on when paraded at the Oyo State Police Command, Eleyele, Ibadan reminds one of Brother Jero in Wole Soyinka’s Trials of Brother Jero. In fact, it would not be an overstatement to nickname him ‘three in one’.
Or,how else would you describe someone who performs the role of a prophet, a traditional ruler and an Alfa. With the way he looks, you can hardly resist saying amen, if he says God bless you and with some Arabic words and some calabashes of black soap, he can easily hoodwink his victims.
Behind all these, the man and his colleagues, who were arrested in a building along P- Ajao area of Ogbomosho were allegedly in possession of one AK 49 rifle, two locally-made double barrel pistols with five live cartridges, two AK 47 rifles, one double sim Techno handset, one Nokia handset, one Toyota Camry Saloon car with registration no. ‘Lagos’ MUS 159 AG, one unregistered motorcycle and three cutlasses.

The suspects with one of the stolen goats thinking that he could still convince people watching him unbelievably, he said he was a genuine man of God and that he was using all the items found on him to help mankind. When asked what he was doing with black soap, cowry shells, horns, red cloth with Islamic wordings,he was dumbfounded.
Oyo State Police Command Deputy Commissioner,Clement Adoda while parading the suspects said, “Upon a tip off to the Ogbomosho Area Commander, ACP. Patrick Ezeani, three men and three women; Tunde Adeyinka,34,Sunday Olanrewaju,29,and Popoola Omotayo,27, were arrested in a building along P-Ajao area, of Ogbomosho”.
On interrogation, he said the arrested notorious criminals confessed to be a gang of criminals who engaged in inter-state robberies, especially within the South Western axis. The arrested suspects who claimed to be “Woli” (Prophets) will soon be charged to court”.
As if that was not enough, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in the state also told newsmen about a 25-year-old man who defiled a four- year old girl. The man, Femi Owolabi who is now being detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku-Ibadan was said to have committed the ungodly act on July 30, 2012.
The mother of the unfortunate little girl, upon discovery of blood stains on her legs examined her and later noticed that she was bleeding profusely from her private part. She then went to the Agugu Police Division to report the matter.
The police quoted the mother as saying she saw the little girl coming out of the suspect’s room with blood all over her legs.
Another gang of suspected hoodlums who allegedly specialized in stealing goats and robbing people of valuables at gun point at Omi Adio and its environs were also rounded up by the police.
According to Police authorities in the state, “On July 27, 2012, at about 8:25pm, one Amuzat of Ajibade village via Omi Adio, Ibadan reported that unknown thieves had stolen five of his goats. Based on the report, policemen at Apata Division swung into action and searched the surrounding bush where one Azeez Shaibu was found hiding inside the bush with the goats. His arrest led to the arrest of two other members of the gang. The arrested members are: Azeez Shaubu, Ojo Ogunmola and Idowu Yekini.
Meanwhile, in his confessional statement, one of the suspects, Azeez Shaibu revealed that they are robbers who have been terrorizing the village. Equally arrested are Lukman Ganiyu who allegedly taught the gang members techniques of stealing goats, and Kunle Ojo, the landlord who hid them from police arrest. Recovered from the suspects was one dane gun”

^^^You're a dispicable animal.....you do realise that don't you? That yarn of only joining the fray when 'ibos' wanted to occupy your region is nothing short of clutching at straws, and would be believed only by Igbo-haters like you with their head stuck firmly in the sand.....trying to look for reasons to justify not seizing the opportunities presented to them in the late 60's.

A number of reasons can be adduced for your ilk siding with the Hausa/Fulani.....chief among which were: envy; hatred; lack of any shred of morality; not being able to stand the fact that Igbos were doing well in the south west; fear of Igbos dominating through their high competitive spirit and hardwork (examples abound of Igbos doing well in the south west and other parts of Nigeria, which inevitably would draw peoples envy towards them; lazy people who had a sense of entitlement based solely on ethnic cleavages); Awos' tribalism and bid to ethnically cleanse the south west (and hopefully the federal gov't) of anything 'Igbo'.....in this example we can situate your 'liberating our region' theory, so it's not entirely without its merit.

Igbos like any other people are not perfect, but i think the mistakes they made pre civil war (and which they still make today) are:

1) underestimating the bile and hatred some other ethnic groups have towards them in Nigeria, and being too 'driven' in a country where all other ethnicities may not have the drive and expertise to succeed.....this would lead to others thinking they were 'dominating' everything (and that's why you now see quota sysytem and federal character in place wink);

2) not looking towards the east, but putting too much faith in this 'one Nigeria' project, to the extent that they were content to live and work in places like the south west and north were ethnicity was quite strong and the people didn't take too kindly to outsiders ..?... ...?... in their land.

I know some may argue that Lagos was the commercial/political capital and hence they were going to were the work and opportunities were; but the problem with this argument is that, i know it....you know it.....even the peeps hating on us know it, but they just don't give a shi/t, and want their land and its opportunities all to themselves (regardless of 'one united and equal Nigeria'); you can't just go anywhere in this country and think you can strive hard to be the best in your profession....Nigeria doesn't work like that, and is not yet that sophisticated i'm afraid; this is a fact we should have at the back of our minds before we start putting too much faith in this fake union.

You are incoherent and dropping grammatical bombs which is making me run out of painkillers. For the last time i have to drum it into you and your fellow co-travellers in this bus of ignorance that we yorubas did not fight to bring you ibos back into nigeria rather we fought to stop you moraphockers from occupying/liberating our region

The Free Education Awolowo organised only ended up producing people indoctirnated with the wrong kind of Eduction

below is what Obasanjo said about the Civil war, the yorubas did not fight to stop Biafrans from entering Yoruba Land , but for their Greed in coveting Niger Delta Oil

The president recently stated in Bayelsa that the Nigerian civil war was about resource control. Enough people who were eyewitnesses to that war and the events preceding it have written to "correct" the president’s flippant miss-statement. Although his objective in making the statement has been inferred, it has been obliquely and not explicitly stated. It needs to be stated explicitly and responded to in like manner. We will attempt to do this in a very brief way.

Probably but unarguable is the fact that many ibos(under the guise of one united nigeria which they truly do not believe in

except when it is in accord with their own selfish interest)took advantage of this grand opportunity to educate their wards. An opportunity, their

own leader, Mr. nationalist a.k.a Zik of Africa, could not provide them, with.

Thousands of ibos would have not been educated had it not been for Awo's free education project in yorubaland yet all you ingrates do is

denigrate him whilst also propagating spurious and fallacious tales about his person.

^^^You wanna back that assertion with facts....facts to prove the lot of Niger-deltans has improved exponentially (since they were 'saved' by you lot) under the current Nigerian set-up; facts to prove we have just as many Niger-deltan billionaires under the current dispensation (that you so 'bravely' and 'kindly' fought for them to have) as we have Hausa/Fulani,Yoruba and Igbo ones; facts to prove that Igbos were as wicked (never mind- more wicked) to the Niger-deltan minorities as the present Nigerian state has been....eg- environmental pollution, Odi massacre, the slaughter of Ken Saro-wiwa and his kinsmen, giving a pathetic 13% derivation (as against the 50% that was in place before 'oyel'); facts to prove there was a coordinated and planned attack by Igbos on the minorities of the Niger-delta in the manner of Odi and Ogoni pacification by the Nigerian state, in order to 'claim' their land as you say.......please i'd love you to furnish us with these facts.

And could you also manage to find one or two Ijaw, Efik, Ibibio or Bakassi nairalanders to corroborate your assertions on the 'wickedness' of the Igbo vis-à-vis the benevolence of the Nigerian state that they enjoy today.

Cheers. wink

ba7man: Sometimes, when i read some comments on NL, I expect a full scale civil war when I leave my house but I only see Igbo, yoruba and Hausa livin together, doin biz nd not fightin lyk a lot of ppl do online. I think this war resides in their heads b'cos I'm yoruba nd I'm bout to go outside nd hang out with som of my neighbours that are from Anambra who just returnd from work. Some ppl are soooo filled with hate their lives must be miserable.

Nairalandd is full of scum, especially animals like ecoathlantic, they are just those kind of idi-ots you see in lagos hinterlands, away from eve nigerian "civilization".Places like old idumu, agbado ijaye and all those new areas that igbos and few mallams are yet to colonize.
