Sensationalist tech pundits have over the last few years opined that blogging is dead; they attribute their claim to the evolution of microblogging platforms such as Twitter and Tumblr. Many have already been misled into believing some of the theories, but to be sincere, the blogging cyberspace has never been more vibrant and alive. blogging is dead Image Credit: SpinS One of the reasons why microblogs are extremely popular is that it often takes minimal effort to reach a targeted audience. Within seconds you can share a link or a short thought about yourself. But the same cannot be said for blogging, since you need a well written article and which should naturally takes hours or even days to craft. Microblogs are nothing but a branch of blogging, simply targeted toward an online audience that’s stereotypically perceived as having a short attention span. As a professional and technical blogger, you have nothing to fear, one hundred and forty characters is perfect to share how you feel, link to a touching story or share your thoughts about a football match, but it is completely worthless when you want to share a full article about a subject neither it is suited for “How-To’s” on technology. Microblogging channels like Twitter can never take the place of a weblog. What depth of information can "140" words possibly be able to cover? [Excerpt: DailyBlogTips] The main misconception regarding the definition of blogs comes from people that associate blogs with their content. More specifically from people that associate blogs with the content from one particular type of blog: personal blogs. In other words, those people think that blogs are online diaries where people share their own personal information, but not any more! Now, businesses have embressed blogging for promotional purposes and customer infomation services. As such, blogging has become fulltime business. |

blogging has technically died, this is how its not as lucrative as it used to be Google was the lifeline of the blogging business and after they overturned the book on us blogging died. content farms etc and similar sites got devalued on the search engine as a result businesses got wiped out completely as for me, blogging is dying, but not completely dead yet |

The truth is most people are only interested in the titles (they auto-generate the contents from their imagination ), this generation don't read. That's the effect of smaller gadgets. 1 Like |
