@dearzi,
That is a very funny one coming from you. I am laughing in tongues right now.

No one doubts the callings and the visions of Pastor Chris. Infact, I applaude them and wish him well. However, are we not supposed to ask questions when we see things contrary to God's Word? Because a MOG started well doesn't mean he will run well or end well. The admonition to WATCH is for everyone including Pastors. There have been great men of God in the past who started well but fell into error. This is what we all must watch and pray about, especially for our pastors. We are not just supposed to take everything hook, line and sinker, but to also ask hard questions and keep our allegiance primarily to our Saviour.

It is difficult to stand on against a popular flow as we have seen the Pope do now. Many will question his intentions and maligh his person, but he has spoken what needs to be spoken and it is up to the rest of us to take action from there. Same is true in this case.

I came here just to confirm if what I read about Pastor Chris was true. I am really concerned about the man. You know, while many are just crazy about ministry and what Christ Embassy is doing, the emphasis should first be on the Minister before his ministry. That is what the scripture teaches. I pray for him, 'cos it will be so disastrous if the enemy has his way in his life, and in my honest opinion, I can see him encroaching and taking a foothold.

Come! TayoD, you that your mouth, and hands are so quick to critic my pastor, and know when the devil is taking a foot hold on him, the so called man of God that's your mentor has nothing to show for his works as a man of God--NOTHING! but big grammer.

I just ran into a friend last week, in the course of discussion, he told me he left household for the hogwash that was being taught there. Like you, he's a very brilliant person, but he was wise to step when he did, but you, NOOOO! you're still going about preaching the gospel according the MC Okotie! dude! don't disrespect my pastor again, it's not your place to do so, and i mean it! you'd better start praying for your household family, that all of you will have your eyes of understanding enlightened.

Re: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome: Interview/Comments by TayoD(m): 5:08pm On Sep 28, 2006
@dearzi,

Why do you feel the need to make this a Pastor to Pastor issue and not deal with the issue raised? Was any of my submissions wrong? A man who claims to see so much into the Spirit but cannot see past T.B. Joshua to discern him as a fake requires a lot of scrutiny as far as I am concerned. If the spirit he works by can stand side by side with the spirit behind T.B. Joshua to minister healing, then there must be something wrong somewhere. Anyway, I hope you will be there whenever T.B. Joshua comes to minister as a guest at Christ Embassy, and I hope you will gladly come forward to have him lay his hands on you for impartation or whatever.

If you want to attack Chris Okotie, kindly do so on another thread. This is all about Oyhaks and I have every right to question and inquire about what I do not know. Instead of providing answers, all you do is threaten and huff and puff. And why are you so irked when this man is brought under scrutiny? 'Cos he is your pastor does not elevate him to the realm of unaccountability. He is not the Holy Ghost for me to be careful what I say about him. He is a man, like every other minister out there, and to be a man is to be subject and capable of missing the mark.

I am sure you will be so happy if I were to sing his praise here. So does a man's praise mean that much to you guys?

About the one who left Household. It happens all the time. I can tell you that one of the guys that was a keyboardist with household was once a member of Christ Embassy. There will always be normad christians who will always find a reason to move around. Every church under the heaven must have lost members and gained members one way or another over time. It is nothing new.

And thanks for the compliment that I am Smart grin

Tayo
I have not told you to sing his praise, your singing his praise won't add a day to his length of days, but when you have nothing good to say, but negativity, i'll take it personal. It's in the same vain, knowing you, someone should say something contrary to my perception of you, i'll not keep quiet. He's my pastor, i've been blessed by his teachings, so i'll not sit quietly and let you insult him. Then again, na your mouth you kuku dey take talk!

Tayo d,

Yes i know the gifts and callings are without repentance. But brother, to have those manifestaions continuously in your midst sustained and in increasing measure, you will have to be very much acquinted with the giver of those gifts.

If you know the Holy Ghost, you will know that He gives more grace to him that is faithful.
It is strife, envy, pride, jealousy and the like that frustrate the grace of God more than anything else.

The grace of God is evident among the saints in our universities and in incresing measure. So do not hide behind the cloak of 'the gifts and callings of God are without repentance' because if you don't have any manifestaions in your midst year in year out, the chances are that Jesus is not there.
Re: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome: Interview/Comments by donnie(m): 11:40am On Sep 30, 2006
The greatest commandment is love, where that is absent, you will have pride, envy jealousy, strife and 'busy-bodying'.

When i heard and read what some people say about 21st century pastors, i am forced to pity the future of many so called christians. In Nigeria, we tend to be extremist in our adoration of 'man of God'. In my growth both as a Nigerian and as a christian, i have learned to approach issues from an objective point of view with sentiments or emotional attachment.

What we see today among pastors is 'showmanship', no more no less. The messages are coated with psychological embelishments to appeal to the ears of the followetrs. But what we fail to realise that God himself has a blueprint gide for pastors. As shepherd, there are expectations and by Bible standards, pastors like Chirs Oyakhilome stands in violation to them.

What Pastor Chris has done is to use the power of media to bamboozle people into think what they see is true. Facts on ground prove otherwise. These pastors, with growing funds around them are not better in treating their flocks as OBJ has treated us. Many poverty striken people in d midst of plenty; many unemployed; fornicators; paper-robbers; 419ers; drunkards; drug dealers; and so on. You can imagine a church where people sow seed with their cars and nobody ask where the source of their earning comes from.

We have gotten to a point now that these pastors dread to mention rapture, second coming c Christ, great tribulation etc in their message. In fact, they pain the picture of utopic heaven on earth,

Has anyone ask why Pastor Ashimolowo is operating from Nigeria? He has been indicted in London over church money. Has d members of winners chapel asked the question on the true owner of covenant university? All d various ventures churches are getting involved in, does anyone care to ask whose names those businesses are registered? Like Fela said, 'Na pastor life dey better' while d members are struggling.

I refused to be decieve.

I know these pastors have deluded followers who hate to hear anyone oppose their 'man of God'. But the Bible told me to test all spirits and i say any spirit that deemphasise the core message of Christ is the spirit of Antichrist. The Bible stressed that in the last days, the devil s going to disquise as angel of light, performing diverse miracles. But miracles will take no one to heaven.

Ezek 34:7-16

7'Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD: 8 "as I live," says the Lord GOD, "surely because My flock became a prey, and My flock became food for every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, nor did My shepherds search for My flock, but the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock"-- 9 therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the LORD! 10 Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require My flock at their hand; I will cause them to cease feeding the sheep, and the shepherds shall feed themselves no more; for I will deliver My flock from their mouths, that they may no longer be food for them."

11'For thus says the Lord GOD: "Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. 12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day. 13 And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land; I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys and in all the inhabited places of the country. 14 I will feed them in good pasture, and their fold shall be on the high mountains of Israel. There they shall lie down in a good fold and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. 15 I will feed My flock, and I will make them lie down," says the Lord GOD. 16 I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong, and feed them in judgment."

I am really impressed about comments each an everyone of you made. The truth is Pastor Chris and other men
of God, using the Name of Jesus Christ and giving all the glory to God Almighty are called of God. The Book of Luke 9:49-50 clarifies everything some mentally and spiritually immature christians (Grk;Nepios) are struggling with. Lots of believers are born again but have not received the Holy Spirit: This eventually has made them to be babies in the Kingdom of God. Their eyes of understanding are not flooded with light and they can not acknowledge mysteries and secrets of God unveiled to us by His Spirit.

The sad part of this is that some pastors, Bishops,Archbishops and pope are even in this unfruitful cycle;
Thereby, sinning against the Holy Ghost by saying "The miracles were performed by satanic powers or they are
fake" My prayer for them is exactly the prayer of Paul in Ephesians 1:17-18. "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of glory, may give them the spirit of wisdom for revelation in the knowledge of Jesus Christ: That the
eyes of their understanding being enlightened: that they may know what is the hope of His calling, and the riches of
the glory of His inheritance in the saints".

I strongly believe that with this, they will certainly take advantage of the Holy Spirit working in them. What God is doing through the life of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome today is what every believer and minister of God desires so greatly- confirming the Word of God with signs and wonders. I have personally longed for it and by His Grace I got it completely now. And I thank God for the life of Pastor Chris and my other spiritual fathers that God had used to bring His Word to me.

To express this whole discussion simply: most people especially christians are like little children in school who were taken from primary 3 to class 6 in the secondary school: because they felt the child is intelligent. So, when mathematical questions like Five minus Eight (5-8=) is given, the child says "CAN NOT" but in the secondary, it can; it`s simply -3!

Glord.

I love his sermon and have no problem with him but you, the followers sometimes. I am not specific but i have a feeling you guys are too militant and will usually take it on anyone who challenges your faith or view. I strongly detest such behavior. Come to think of what i face as a Cele boy, yet i recieve critisicm even with smiles when it seems too stupid.
Cheers!

Listen to the words opf wisdom, "no man ever kick against a prick and stand" don't criticise what you know is truth.

Oh, so your pastor is now Jesus Christ personified that He now becomes the prick to be kicked against? Na wa o. Revel in delusion. When you wake up, let me know. Why is he a rare gift I ask? So God has begun to hoard His gifts hen? There is no words of wisdom in swallowing hook, line and sinker the words of a man who claims to see everything but unable to see the charlatan that T.B. Joshua is. Why should I allow one who can minister under the same spirit that is behind T.B. Joshua to minister to me?

For the enemy hath turned himself into an angel of light. Even the devil tempted Jesus in the wilderness with bible quotations! The devil will also at the end time use that same bible to hold others in bondage.
We have over-quoted this "thou shalt not judge" scripture to include "thou shalt not even criticise nor point out errors"! Yet what were the berean christians renowned for? That even after almighty apostle paul had preached to them THEY WENT BACK AND SEARCHED THEIR SCRIPTURES TO INQUIRE IF WHAT HE HAD JUST TAUGHT THEM WERE TRUE!

They did not just swallow his sermons and say "thou shalt not judge"!
Re: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome: Interview/Comments by TayoD(m): 12:37am On Jan 13, 2007
And by the way, Dagon fell face down when placed in the same room with the Ark of Covenant. How the spirit behind T.B. Joshua can manifest to minister side by side with Oyaks tells me that one person is compromised. So who is influencing who I ask? Before you answer my question please remember 1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

a man who sees nothing wrong with an associate pastor who steals N49m to pay the church as "seed offering" is not a man of God in my oppinion!
Re: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome: Interview/Comments by shahan(f): 11:44am On Jan 13, 2007
Things I Like About Pastor Chris:

* he is "rugged" (i.e., sturdy) and resolute about what he does

* he is passionate about Who he serves - the Lord Jesus Christ

* he is a man of great foresight and vision for his persuasions

* he spends less time worrying over oppositions and forges ahead.

Things I Quiz About Pastor Chris:

* his esoteric oriental teaching lately

* his inability to set the records straight about the N49m seed offering

* his inability to address his brother's justification of bribery in a sermon

Pastor Chris is not accountable to me or anyone else on the Forum; but He that will judge on that day says in His Word:

"Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God." - 3 John 11.
