Yet anoda horror hits our screens,how nigerians av descended so low dat life has no value to us again.D now dubbed 'Aluu 4' is just d latest in d downward trajectory we av taken in dis nation.How did we reach d point?Simply,its a failure of society as a whole,civilians,police,religious bodies& d ever worsening politician.We all now shout,'barbaric' as if its today we started witnessing jungle justice.In every major city in nigeria,jungle justice has bn d practice,dose dat don't participate sometimes watch in glee as petty thieves,assumed "witches",kidnappers are burnt alive& some of us go home saying in our minds,"gud for dem".Not long ago somebody posted pics of assumed kidnappers handed d same treatment as d aluu 4 in abuja in d full glare of army& police personel& some pple actually rained praises on mob.A barely 10yr old also got similar treatment for being an assumed kidnapper& nobody felt it was inhuman,we all went to bed wt no nightmares,waiting to see d next day& go about our duties.What happened to d Absu gang rape case,nothing.A group of boys molested a lady in a citadel of learning& after a momentary cry,it was 4gotten.We don't seem 2 value live& there is this tendency to find joy in taking it in d most cavemen of manners.When other parts of d world luk down on us as being subhuman,we make unnecessary noises.
D only gud dat can come out of dis is if it wud put a perpetual end to d mob culture,jungle justice some nigerians take a delight in,if we cud take every culprit,no matter his crime & no matter how flawed d police& judicial systems to an appropriate law enforcement agency,because innocent souls av lost valuable lives in dis ancient of behaviours of ours;but I maybe hoping against hope bc a culture some nigerians believe& participated in,right from their kindergarten yrs may take anoda generation to erase.
