President Jonathan Condemns Kaduna Church Suicide Bomb Attack by MurphyT1: 4:44pm On Oct 28, 2012 |
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has condemned Sunday's suicide bomb attack on a Catholic Church in Kaduna. The President, who was extremely saddened by the explosion, described it as "barbaric, cruel and uncalled for." President Jonathan noted that the apparent objective of the criminal and unpatriotic elements and forces behind the attack is to set back the progress the Administration has made in the fight against terrorism in the country. "It is obvious that these people do not mean well for Nigeria and its unity and development," he said. The President however, expressed confidence that the war against terrorism would become more unrelenting as the nation would never give in to the forces of terror and retardation. He added that the persistence of messengers of evil will not prevail over the will of the government and the people to secure peace and safety. "Our efforts to deal with all acts of terror and violence would only be redoubled even as the security agencies continue to receive all the support they need from government to reverse this unfortunate and unacceptable trend that threatens the peace and stability of our nation," President Jonathan said. The President commiserated with the Catholic Church, family and friends of the victims of the bombing, assuring them that government’s resolve to deal with the threat of terrorism remains strong. Does he have a choice but to condemn it and call it "barbaric, cruel and uncalled for"? Isn't that the usual? All this na mere rhetoric. They might as well copy and paste the same old speech each time something like this happens. I want to hear something different for once. Even if its that he doesnt know what to do. |

People are being killed because they voted for jonathan. The only condition that the northern elders are offering is that they want more oil money to create more bombers |

haka_nai: ^^^^ leave this man abeg! I mean the president,is it his person or office that detonated the bomb?A crime has being committed,he is entitled to his right of expressing his governments concern.WE ARE TIRED OF HIM EXPRESSING CONCERN ALL THE TIME! He is the president of Nigeria and swore to protect lives and property of every nigerian. He is responsible for their death by not providing adequate security. Try to put yourself in the shoe of the family of those killed. Assume that one of your siblings (God forbid) is a victim, how will you feel. Everyone surrenders the right to carry arms to defend himself/herself to government in return for adequate protection. If the govt failed to do just that, they (the president inclusive) need to be questioned! If the people he deligated duties & power to can not perform, he should fire them and if he can not do that, let him resign!. No sentiment. |

okosodo: People are being killed because they voted for jonathan. The only condition that the northern elders are offering is that they want more oil money to create more bombers ...And the Jonathan they voted for failed to protect them. Why did they (including myself) vote for him in the first place? |

obasy09: I used to share in this line of tot before, but on a second tot I realized itz not really d President's fault, no doubt he is incharge of nig affairs but he has to carry out his duties wit tact without trampling on d rights of Nig..put ur self in d President's shoes, wot wud u hav done? Kill every body in d north? Obviously not...u hav to carefuly look for d source frm wish dis is emanatin and tackle it frm der, and I think frm recent headlines in de dailies, tremendous efforts r bein recorded, I believe in no time dis ugly trend will disappear...I just pity d innocent nigerians dat r bein killled, it so unfortunate, really unfortunate. |

Let the Islamists have their own Islamic country: where women would be locked up in doors and a 70 year old man can marry a 7 year old girl. Let us stop deceiving ourselves, those blaming Jonathan should tell us what they would have done if they are in his shoes. |

Murphy T:Good points. However,he needs to do more. We're talking about human lives for God sake. If the president is really serious, he would have unmasked the sponsors he claimed he knew! |

Murphy T: Did you say without trampling on the rights of Nigeria?? Do we even have any rights as citizens anymore KMT! When we are brutally harassed by the police for no reason at all, will you claim rights?? When you are oppressed by the politicians, the president included, you sit there and talk about rights? He doesn't want to trample on the rights of Nig?? What rights? Abeg leave matter. What more support does he want?? For how many years has BK been terrorizing the country? For how many years? All we hear is "The President has condemned the attacks on ...." If he no condemn am, na wetin he for do? Condone? Of course he has to condemn. Now if your argument is that the president is trying and he cant kill everyone in the north etc... then there is a problem. Are we asking him to kill everyone in the north? Hell no! Ok. Lets assume that BK sponsors are not politicians or influential people or whatever but they are just a group of radicals with foreign support etc. Shouldnt our intelligence agencies picked up on that? Dont you think Nigerians deserve to know the cause of this menace? Shouldn't the president be committed to finding out the reasons why this group exists, who is sponsoring them etc and shouldnt we be informed of what is going on? today, na negotiation, tomorrow, na arrest of BK leader, next tomorrow, na escape of BK leader in prison, next week, na church bombing. and you tell me the president is trying? TRYING MY FOOT! If he is not capable, let him say so. ALL NA WASH!! He knows what is going on but will keep going round says these acts are condemnable and barbaric. Grammar. If those guys there want BK to stop tomorrow, they know how to do it. They are messing with our minds. The day Aso Rock is bombed is the day BK will stop because that is when they will decide enough is enough. Na because d tin never reach their side. Na because d problem wey poor man dey face never reach their side. The day it happens to them, you go see how everytin go change. You ask us to put ourselves in the president's shoes... How about he puts himself in our shoes and know how it hurts? |

Even if these people were just a bunch of jobless youth or whatever, maybe if there was some structure in our society and things were working and they had jobs to occupy their time, they won't have the valuable time to spend coming up with silly plans on how to bomb people? If people had school to go to or work to do, they surely wont have time for this. If BK members are from neighbouring countries, shouldn't the govt take charge of our borders and protect them? Why are we so complacent? Na so e go start. Before long, we will become accustomed to it. BK bombing will become part of our everyday lives. that is if it hasnt already happened. |

Egba girl: @bolded You just hit the nail on the head! Let's assume that any of the president's children or that of the past leaders becomes a victim, I tell you, Boko Haram will seize to exist in a week! For instance, the case of Cynthia is an eye opener. |
Re: President Jonathan Condemns Kaduna Church Suicide Bomb Attack by MurphyT1: 4:47pm On Oct 30, 2012 |
Egba girl: and how will they do dat? we r all matured and reasonable, we no it isnt easy to fight terrorism, even America are experiencing difficulty in fightin same, we are all angered just the way you are, but i stl believe the President always has sleepless night cos of this menace, security agencies r trying...dnt forget that when u plan to catch a thief, the thief is also planning diff ways to escape..dnt get me wrong, but the govt is trying...it was worst initially, true or false..letz just hope and pray, it will only get better |
