SWIMMING AGAINST THE CURRENT IV

MEMORY VERSE: (Rom 12:2) And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing and perfect will of God.

The reason so many believers continue to fall into sin is that they have refused to work on their thought patterns. They have come to believe and accept sin as pleasurable buying into the beliefs and ideals of the world. A renewed mind on the other hand will realize that sin is an act of great wickedness against God. (Gen 39:9) ...How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

The bible also makes us understand that the wages of sin is death. Reading and meditating on these scriptures will change our mindset towards sin and help us evaluate our actions before going ahead with them. Information can change your perspective of sin. What are your thoughts on sin, health, wealth and the economy? Do you believe that “life is filled with good days and some not so good days?” Have you read proverbs 4:18 which says "But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shines more and more to the perfect day?"

Phil 2:5 says “For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus”. Let your mind be in sync with God’s word and let the truth of God's word transform your mind. Write a list today of ten things which have changed in your life and another of ten things which haven’t changed since you professed to be born again then begin to work on those which haven't changed by first renewing your mind.

CONFESSION: The word of God have I hidden in my heart that I may not sin against Him.

PRAYER: Lord, open my eyes of understanding.
