It’s not news that the standard of the nigerian education system is at an all time low, irrespective of the number of graduates that we keep churning out annually. Graduating from our Universities with a good grade is not childs play, considering obstacles such as poor class room infrastructure, intimidation from lecturers, overcrowded lecture venues, and even having to deal with clueless lecturers. Even our secondary schools are nothing to write home about.
I was discussing with a colleague of mine recently, who was trying to register his cousin for SSCE. The question he was asked in all schools visited was "How do you want it to be?" When he asked for further clarification, he was informed that candidates who pay N150,000 were put in a special class where they will be assisted. However, candidates who could not afford it were on their own.
This got me thinking....What kind of leaders are we training for tomorrow…Is there hope?
