*clears throat* why OEM use AMD chip in some of their sys. is because the system is a lower standard pc like HP 530 or smaller systems design for surfing n spread sheet editing, n mostly other spec of this kind are 512 or 1 GIG RAM, 100-160 HDD, 64MB Graphics card and so on. for sys. price let assume the same other spec but different CPU, if the one with AMD costs 2k thhen the one wif Intel will cost 4K. for hd content look @ d image below n see that all my six cores r rose upto 94% if na AMD it go catch fire
of course if u are a simple uuser like maleeg then go for AMD but if u are a hard core user like me then go for INtel. cox there is no need a spread sheeet editor to be using intel.

What programs do you use?

It depends on personal usage, budget and needs. I have Intel in all my PCs. My custom desktop has Intel and my two laptops have Intel. I use my desktop mainly for gaming, and Intel is superior in that department, but AMD is still nice for desktops due cheap motherboards and CPUs, and they still run well, although not entirely up there with Intel with single core performance. My laptops have intel for no real reason.

But when it comes to graphics cards, I prefer AMD.

Well to be honest I prefer AMD. Only will use intel if its an i7. My HP 615 with an AMD Athon X2 dual core processor delivers the goods for me. And if u wanna ask the question of what I do, I game like mad, NFS:Hot Pursuit, PES 12, assasins creed, prototype, COD to mention but a few, I run virtualization for testing me OSes, running Windows Server 2008 R2 and using them to try a few things den d basic computing tho my system can't properly handle 1080p videos cuz d video card is a bit old hence why battlefield 3 is not among the games I mentioned (BF3 requires 512MB vid cards while mine is 256MB). 1 reason I love AMD is dat virtualization is on by default(AMD-V) as against some intel processors dat dnt support it. So AMD for me... Frm reviews online seem they have worked on their heating problem. Using my laptop for a year plus now so...

I preferred Intel because it adapt to our temperature compare to AMD.
