This is when a lady or a guy refuses to marry someone simply cos he or she is not well educated, not up to his/her status or is from a particular ethnic group. We have those (especially ladies) who are always looking for a perfect match. they set alot of standards or conditions when it comes to the issue of marriage. they dont want to take or accept whosoever is 'thrown' at them. they prefer to take their time, by separating the wheat from the chaff before making up their mind on whom to marry. like most girls that wouldn't want to marry a mechanic (no matter his level) or a taxi driver (no matter his take home). their sight even from afar disgust not a few of them. they see these categories of men to be below their standard. many of them want the best. always craving and dreaming of getting married to a tall dark handsome man, a banker, an engineer or a successful businessman (even some married ladies still have such dreams/desire). and whether the guy is a woman batterer or an occultic man in disguise they dont care. what matter most is his appearance and his fat bank accounts. they want a clean and well educated guy, who can take care of them, build castles for them and worship the ground they walk on. they tend to disregard those things that should be taken into consideration when choosing a life partner. they are like this, cos many of them are vain in nature. and when a lady is like this, two things are bound to happen. either she ends up becoming an old maid or ends up getting married to the wrong person for the wrong reason. and eventually left to wallop in self pity, pain and regret. as for men, most times they dont care if a lady is a graduate or not. though they are easily deceived and carried away by the appearance of a lady. but in most cases they look out for character. cos appearance could be deceptive atimes. and being educated doesn't make a lady a good wife material. some educated ones dont even know how to cook, talkless of knowing anything about home management. and nothing stops a man from training his wife or wife- to be later. we do have housewives who get enrolled in schools later. you can 'Behind' up a person to your taste (if you must). but at the same time, what matter most is character and the person's willingness to become a better person. so, remove those barriers, whether tribe, language, status, education or positions, and let your heart lead you. cos you dont know what the person might become tomorrow. had it been Michelle Obama had rejected Barack Obama cos of his humble background then, she wont have become the first lady and wife of the most powerful president in the world. so, dont judge a book by it cover, but by it content. shikena!

@OP, you've said much, but to be honest with you, b4 marriage some of these things ve to be put in to consideration. I won't blame the gals because, no one would like to suffer or see his/her children suffer too. Even you, if a man is not up to an average status and wants to marry ur sister, I don't think you'll accept. I don't blame the ladies when they look for successful men to marry but I advise them to know the source of his wealth.
