Let's be honest with ourselves. There is hierarchy of class in a society and u can feel insulted or embarrassed when someone below your class have on the same outfit as you.

As a girl in general, I don't want to see any other girl wearing the same outfit as me. I can't even buy a top if my friend has the exact type, uh-uh!

There is a difference between having a vain side and calling someone else 'LOW CLASS'..

I have a vain side as well.. When I wear my outfits, I like them to stand out, however, because a bus conductor is wearing it dont make him 'LOW CLASS'. I worked into an elevator and saw a G.M wearing the same Ralph Lauren belt as I was and I didnt like it.. However, it was me being vain, not as a result of him being 'LOW CLASS'.

I have seen an Okada man wearing the same pattern and color of shirt as I was.. Infact, we were both in front of the traffic stop.. I just pointed it out, laughed and that was it.. Point is, it is what it is.. I have seen a bus conductor wearing an original Polo by Ralph Lauren.. I have those in my wardrobe as well, so should I burn them?! NO!!

how did u deduce that its only the 'poor' that liked that statement? How much are you worth? How many properties bear ur name in Abuja or outside Nigeria? How many jets, cars and yachts make up ur fleet? If Dangote's daughter(or Carlos Slim's wife) saw u wearing the exact top she is wearing and starts complaining about 'poor' people (like u Obviously) also wearing 'rich' people's clothes would you find it funny?
Of course nobody like seeing what he/she is wearing everywhere he/she goes but its just not cool to brand others 'low class' when in reality we r most likely 'low class' to so many people in Naija and beyond.

quicksylva: Not necessary a low class person per say, I don't like seeing what am wearing on more than two or more person.

I remembered when I was still in the university. It was a sunday, so I was planning 2go to church that morning. I brought out my best shirt that I bought from a Lagos boutique. As a fine boy well packaged i.e Swatch watch, Motorola Razor, All star Converse etc. I'll cut to the chase

As I was leaving my room, i saw another guy putting on the shirt I was wearing, the guy was also going to church also, I said to myself I wasn't going to turn back after all it's only the two of us that own that type of shirt (4 my mind).

As I entered the Church, to my greatest surprise we were like 10 people putting on the replica of my shirt, I couldn't turn back it was already late to do that. Through out the mass I didn't stand up and I was the last person to leave the church.

Ever since then, if am buying cloth, I make sure I check the next five boutique just in case they sell something similar.

Its not bout buyin cheap apparels,quality clothing is usually copied and mass produced,bought a certain top for bout 4k,saw d exact same top for 1500 somewher else,by d time I looked closer I realized d material was inferior to d one I had,but ow many peopll wil undstnd that wen they see u and pepper seller wearin d same tin
