So much spite on this thread. I'm happy Obama won a second term but I can empathize with the republicans. I felt the same way when John Kerry lost to George Bush in 2004. It's a sad feeling.

The strategy of relying MOSTLY on White voters to win a Presidential election has backfired in two consecutive election cycles (McCain's campaign tried the same tactic in 2008). In fact, White male voters made up only 33% of voters in this election; while White voters as a whole made up 72% of the electorate.

Also, 71% of Latinos voted for Obama; 93% of Blacks voted for Obama and 70% of Asians voted for Obama. This is in stark contrast to 2004, when Bush won more than 40% of the Latino vote.
Romney only won 59% of the White vote.
