These are not the best of times for star actress, Funke Akindele a.k.a Jenifa, who got married a few months back in an elaborate society wedding in Lagos. The very witty actress, City People gathered has just lost a 4-month pregnancy.
Few weeks ago, several talks and rumours were everywhere over the real state of her pregnancy, which many claimed she had flaunted at a couple of occassion. Funke, who has become a pace-setter, role model in the industry, thanks to the success she has made of her talent as an all-round thoroughbred script writer and actress, is indeed not finding this moment of her life easy because her joy of being a mother for the first time, which would have come to pass in a matter of few months from now has been shattered.
This may not be unconnected to some family pressures, and the demands of her job, as a highly sought after actress, whose face many would always want to see in movies. Funke, whose fairy tale wedding was widely reported in all print and electronic media shook the entire Nigerian showbiz Industry. Naturally, it is expected of her to start having babies, after her marriage to popular Lagos Big Boy and Property Developer, Kehinde Almaroof, a.k.a Kenny Doo.

Funke has been seen flaunting her bulging tummy at several events, here in Nigeria and abroad before now, but at the recently held Headies Award, at Expo Hall, Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island Day Party in Ikeja, Lagos, her tummy had gone flat as it was before she got married. Some close persons to her squealed that Funke is going through some secret agonies in her marriage, part of which they alleged has to do with the fact that her husband had been seeing 2 different women, before she married him. This,coupled with many other marital and homefront issues, sources revealed, could have been working against her.
Apart from marital issues, the career of Funke, does not seem to be looking upward, as the case was before her marriage.
In the same vein, the story of her husband’s mistress, a divorcee and mother of 2 boys from another marriage, who was impregnated by Funke’s husband broke about 2 weeks ago. The lady, who came out and spoke on her romance with Kenny Doo, gave her name as Modinat Nike Dada. She is 7 months pregnant. Modinat is fondly called Mama Dayo. Her first marriage, allegedly crashed due to incompatibility with her estranged husband, also called Dayo. Modinat’s sister runs a clothing store at Oshodi, the shop is owned by Kenny Doo. He reportedly met Modinat at her sister’s shop in Oshodi from where the romance began. Modinat had problems getting pregnant initially for a while before Kenny Doo came into her life, and she became pregnant instantly.
This time, however, Kenny Doo had already fallen in love with Funke, and so dumped Modinat, despite the fact that she was pregnant. As it is now, Kenny Doo, with 5 kids already, is expecting 2 more kids from his other women, Fadekemi and Modinat, while Funke is still brooding over her pregnancy loss, and silently lamenting on what would become her fate in the unfolding scenario. Those close to the Jenifa star say she is taking her predicament philosophically, adding she believes when the time comes, she’ll be a mother, her husband’s many women notwithstanding.

Modinat na bad market for Funke. According to unverified reports from the grapevine, the woman Jazz and under-the-sea connections no get part two. Funke may be lucky if the expected spiritual onslaught ends in 'ordinary' miscarriage(s). . .when you're entangled with the likes of Modinat, you might end up battling one 'mysterious' illness or the other until you are eliminated.
