Just working some basic grammar and I can't seem to figure out the difference between: "anyị chị anụ" and "unu akwọghị anyị" I understand the difference in unu, anyị etc, but why use akwọ instead of chị ? for the negation in the second sentence would "unu achịghị anyị" work as well? or am I misunderstanding chị vs akwọ in the use of the meaning 'carry'? Still just trying to grasp the basics so I'd appreciate any assistance, also trying to figure out which dialect, Onitsha vs. Owerri, I am actually trying to focus on, since alot of material and books do not seem to indicate which dialect they are explaining..making it overly difficult to figure out verb stems etc biko, achị m |

chimex38:how's the pronunciation toned? is the "eke" a low-high (market day), high-high (python) and so on. The nearest meaning of the word you posted (Ekeada) is "the Python falls". It's just like reporting what is happening live! 1 Like |

EzePromoe:I dunno about the tone, but I know it's a female name. I viewed it as "Eke-Ada". I thought Ada means Ist daughter and from ur post, "Eke" means python. Looking at previous posts, I found out Eke-Ada as "creation" or "being" from the word "Chineke" It's all kind of confusing me here.. But I appreciate ur angle to it though... Thanks.. |
