Decisions Determine Destiny - 5 Ways to Happiness

1. Be Grateful for Your Heritage
Having goodly parents is a blessing and we should be thankful for that.
"My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother" (Proverbs 6:20).
"When you drink the water, don't forget the well from whence it sprung" (Chinese Proverb).
Never forget to give your parents thanks. Remember them during prayer time.


2. Commit Yourself to the Family
Families are ordained of God. Many people are chosing to postpone marriage until later in life, or not to marry at all. Through families come the greatest blessing in life - children. "The bearing and rearing of children is the highest of all human duties" (David O. McKay). In order to raise successful children, you must have a successful family structure. Your spouse should be second to God.

- Find a righteous spouse
- Admire your spouse
- Make your spouse your best friend
- Have faith in your spouse
- Love your spouse
- Trust your spouse
- Find joy with your spouse

3. Be Involved in a Positive Way
Live according to what good you have been taught. Lead by example and do not follow trends. "A significant challenge is to adhere to the scriptural injunction to live in the world but not of the world (see John 17)" (Ensign). Trust in the Lord. He will give you strength to stand firm despite opposition.

4. Live and Communicate Your Standards
Meet each challenge with a determined attitude. Know your convictions and stand by them. Do not let others easily sway you into making the wrong choice. Let others know about your standards before placing yourself in a situation where you could be tempted into making a wrong choice.

5. Be a Light
You do not always need to tell people about the wrongs you see in them. Instead, chose to be an example of goodness and righteousness and they will often times follow. Compliment people on their kindness and good deeds and watch them expand.

Point 1 being grateful for goodly parents is very instructive.
My heart goes for those who became orphans early in life either thru death of parents or were abandoned by d bush by teenage mothers
in it all, In everything Give THANKS.
