Create Substance From Hope
Wednesday, June 5th

Pastor Chris

Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be (Romans 4:18).

The Apostle Paul’s thoughts about Abraham’s faith in Romans 4 show that Abraham believed and trusted in the God who gives life to the dead, and calls things that don’t exist as though they already existed. Against hope, he believed in hope; meaning that even when it was naturally hopeless for him to have a child, at nearly one hundred years old, he created substance out of his hope. And that’s exactly what the Bible says faith is: "...the substance of things hoped for…" (Hebrews 11:1).

Hence, when the Bible says, "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness," it isn’t just talking about mental assent or believing; it’s dealing with faith. It means, he made an unqualified committal to Jehovah; he cast himself on the Lord, expressing absolute confidence and trust in Him. Abraham made positive and real, that which he had pictured from afar. This was how he received the miracle of a son: he believed God had given him a son even though he was yet to see him with his physical eyes.

Therefore, when God changed his name from Abram to Abraham, he promptly adjusted to his new status. He began to introduce himself to others as "the father of many," even though physically, the child was yet to be born. That was how he translated his hope to faith and eventually realised the promise.

Like faithful Abraham, you’ve been called to the faith life-style, and faith requires that you create substance out of hope by acting as though God has done what you asked for. Faith requires that you say "yes" to God’s Word and live accordingly. Confession
I’m what God says I am. I can do what He says I can do, and I have what He says I have. My faith is the evidence that every blessing of God as stated concerning me in the Word, are my present-hour possession. I’m in the centre of God’s will for my life, where all things synchronize and function to my advantage, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

A GLORIOUS COMMUNION! *PASTOR CHRIS* FRIDAY, JUNE 7TH, 2013
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him (John 14:23).

In our opening verse, the Lord Jesus said, "If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him…." This prompts a question: "Didn’t the Father already love everyone?" John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

When He said the Father would love the one who keeps His words, He wasn’t talking about the general love of God, but the "fellowship-love" of God. He meant that the Father would take notice of him and have special fellowship with him. Next, He said, "… we (the Father and the Son) will come unto him, and make our abode with him." This wasn’t going to be a visit; rather, He meant the Father and the Son would set up their headquarters in the heart of the one who keeps God’s Word. Amazing thought!

I discovered this verse many years ago, and it made a deep impression on my spirit. I couldn’t get away from the phrase "…make our abode with him," because I understood what it meant. It’s a glorious communion; an inseparable oneness with divinity. You’re in Him, and He’s in you; you’ve become the operational headquarters, while He becomes your dwelling place. Colossians 1:27 says, "…Christ in you, the hope of glory." Thus, you’re shielded by His presence and covered by His glory, twenty-four hours a day.

CONFESSION
My life is hidden with Christ in God. In Him I live, and move, and have my being. I abide in Him just as He abides in me, and ours is a glorious communion and oneness of spirits. Halleluiah.

Thought for Today: What Happens when You Speak in Other Tongues?

Newest Posts, Thought for Today 287 comments

Jun. 05

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. (1 Corinthians 14:2).

It’s been over 48 hours since the Holy Ghost launched us into this glorious month of Prayer. The excitement is building around the world as believers pray together twice a day for fifteen-life changing minutes each; speaking mostly in other tongues. Thank you for heeding the counsel of the Spirit to pray.

In this month of Prayer, ensure that you participate fully in those special prayer times and speaking in other tongues is one spiritual activity you must take seriously! If you’ve not been praying this way, you’re missing too much! Paul said, “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all” (1 Corinthians 14:18). He could brag about it because he understood the importance of this spiritual activity. No wonder his results were incontrovertible.

Speaking in other tongues is an important way to accomplish a God-given purpose. It’s a way to “quick charge” your spirit and cause you to respond very quickly to spiritual things. As you pray in tongues, the anointing is stirred within you and, suddenly, you’re turned into another man. Glory!

When you’re born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, the power of God comes to reside in you. This power is triggered off or set in motion when you speak in other tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:4 says, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself….” The Greek word translated as “edifieth” means “to construct or to build up, to embolden or charge up like a battery.” The scripture is therefore telling us that the one who speaks in other tongues builds himself up like an edifice; he emboldens himself and charges himself like a battery.

Speaking in tongues is the solution to fear and timidity. If you ever become timid about anything this month, activate the power within you by speaking in other tongues; it works! (2 Timothy 1:7). Also, if you want to operate in the highest level of faith, which you’ve attained, then you must practise speaking in other tongues often this month. In Jude 1:20, the Bible says when you speak in other tongues you’re building yourself on your most holy faith. That means the Spirit of God is able to take God’s Word right into your spirit where it produces God’s kind of faith.

Brothers and sisters, this month is a month like never before because you’re in for a glorious experience. In this month, you’ll see the manifestation of the supernatural in your life like never before and others will see it too. So, don’t just participate; let’s get everyone speaking in other tongues. Glory to God!

Remember to post your comments and share your experiences in this month of Prayer.
