Like earlier said, most OR problems are solved using excel but this time, excel add-ins which are 3rd party written. These add-ins can be purchased online. Also, matlab can be handy in OR techniques.

Hi everyone, I am actually bothered about a few things, I have been wondering about the places where a statistics student in Nigeria can have his IT placement, and I have been wanting to hear from people that had done that, what the general experience was like. Also, I'm passionate about applying my statistical knowledge to the manufacturing industry at the end. What should I have known? In a nutshell, I need guidance.
Thanks for your considerate responses

statisticians are employed mostly to provide statistical support in research. They work in banks and all types of industries. I worked in d bank but not in the capacity of a statistician. Banks employ graduates from all manner of disciplines to work for them to just achieve good profit.
