What a sad and sad day for my friends and I today. Egypt won and we lost. I disagree that the best team won. I think some team were just lucky. Song made a mistake that cost Cameron and that he will have to live with it for the rest of his life. Congrats to E'too and his team for representing AFRICA, I was watching the guy that scored interview. He was asked about how he felt and he replied ( in Arabic) that this win was for all egyptian people and the Arab world . I was like what the heck, no mention of Africa. Bullshit, what has Arab got to do with African Cup?? |

what is racist about what he said most people refer to them as Arabs don't they, whenever we talk about Africa there's always the 'Sub-Saharan Africa bit that is used to differentiate African Arabs and other Africans Those guys are just too goood! very dedicated, organised and determined! i never hear them complain about match bonus unlike some people , we never hear stories like one chairman want to give them speech during half-time their officials are not desperate to go on foreign trips |

The best team won the game. imagine the combined age of the cameroonian team is 456, and nigeria 583 ( Builder football magazine), those folks are way too old to be playing. the same thing happened to the nigerian players, i just hope and pray those idiots hang their boots for the younger generation , Nigeria first team looks like the Egypian D-Team, no skill, no passion just like their politicians, brainless twats |

Thank Goodness the Arabs won, or else they been setting up bombs all round Ghana like fire cracker . I bet Kofi, Charlie Nene and Opong would be breathing a sign of relief. Jokes apart the Egypians were the best team by a mile, they beat the ivorians like they stole sumthin, and they thrashed cameroon twice just to make sure they doing the right thing. i just wonder why they always under-perform in world cups compared to other african teams |

Builder: The thing is that they are arab suckers! And the whites have not lost sight of that and that is why the local players they use comes to a disadvantage to them. Let's not forget that Eyinmba beat them to lift the league title some years back. |

Someone's got to win. Do not crucify Song. Song put up a very good defence for the camerounian side. He and the goalkeeper sure prevented a havoc of goals the the Pharaohs would have wrecked on them. There always has to be a mistake somehow or else the tournament will never end. |

The best team took back their trophy. They came with the trophy They were determined to go back with it. From their first game, i knew they were at the tournament for a purpose They weren't there to seek better european clubs They were there to play good football and that they did. Despite all odds associated with football; the foul play, fair play, bias referee judgement, crowd/ supporters influence, CAF politics, the emotions among others At least, Justice was done. The pharoahs were worth it. I rest my case here till 2010 |

It was a sad night in Cameroon when the final whistle was blown. In every corner everyone was talking about Songggggggggg, Just like they talked about Wome, when he missed the penalty that caused Cameroon a place in World Cup 2006. I think the man of the day for Cameroon was Kameni. He did his best, just so the trophy could fly to Cameroonians. But sadly Song made a fatal error that a defender of his standing should not make. We know if they are no errors, the competition will not come to an end, but should a goal keeper after catching the ball roll it, into his net, because they are bound to be errors. Thats how every Cameroonian read Song's error. You had the ball all to yourself, better give it to the Keeper, or send it out. He prefers dribling in his penalty ring. Its thesame thing he did with the Tunisian Match. He follows the ball, and only decides to kick it when its out of line, However, Congrats though for the second place, If Egypt had not qualify for the Nations cup, Cameroonians would have lifted it, LOL LOL hahahhah |

The brand of football displayed by the Egyptians is not made in Africa! This, coupled with excellent organization by their FA, and good discipline from the players, the youthfulness of the team, having been playing together for a very long time(al Ahly, Zamalek etc) placed the entire team on a very good position. African FA's should have a rethink. The Egytian team did not have players from MAN U, ARSENAL, REAL MADRID, MILAN, BARCA, LIVERPOOL, ETC. 98% of that team including the entire coaching crew, is made up of home based players. So, what then are we worried about. |

The final summarized in one sentence , 'The most experienced player in the nations cup making the most inexperienced mistake to gift Egypt the cup' But why does song have to be the player to have demons plague him till 2010. i think its is the fates at work. |

Super(?) Eagles, Patriotism & Miracle seekers =============================== I find our comments about the Eagle's failure very surprising but not unusual, rather typical Naija. 1. SUPER Eagles - The super is just like when we refer to our country as the Giant of Africa, even though we are only giant in population that has not translated into socio-economic benefits. Did we not perform consitently better when we were plain GREEN Eagles Nowadays, we are too engrossed in unjustified self-aggrandisement both at the personal and collective levels. 2. PATRIOTISM - It seems patriotism is only meant for the "labourers" or ordinary citizens not for those who break the laws & loot the treasury blind and by so doing encourage others including football administrators to do likewise. Na everybody dey smart, abi no be so Why should the players perform impressively and play their hearts out if their welfare is not adequately catered for or guaranteed despite the billions allocated to sports? When was the last time our country featured on any top medal list in a global athletic event? 3. MIRACLE - I guess we were expecting that we will again "wobble & fumble" through to winning the cup, especially after defeating our tiny neighbours, Benin that fielded a number of Nigeria-born players. Well our exit just shows that work & pray is what wins the race NOT pray only. Hopefully we will, individually, reflect on our sordid societal situation that manifests in all aspects of our national life and take small steps of positive change |

dellynash: Do u realise Song is a long time professional player? If anything in this world should guide his football is his experience. An experienced player should never be intimidated by other players let alone his fellow African. The same goes to Toure against Egypt. How on earth could he run about like a misguided player? There are things u call a mistake. This is not! |
