In a bid to account for funds released for an uncompleted road project, the public accounts committee of the House of Representatives on Monday summoned former Chairman of the board of trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tony Anenih.

Former Chairman of the board of trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tony Anenih.

This is a resolution reached after consideration of the report of the auditor general of the federation on the activities of the federal ministry of works.

According to the auditor general’s report, the contractor executed only nineteen per cent of the job but was paid far in excess of the work done and no attempt was made to recover the N552 million paid to the contractor as mobilisation fee.

The contract which was for the reconstruction of a road in Nasarawa State was awarded in September 2001 to a contractor with a completion date of April 18, 2003. However, it was observed during inspection of the project site in 2004 that the project was abandoned.

Mr Anenih, who was the minister of works at the time the road contract was awarded is expected to appear before the house committee on public accounts to provide valuable insight into aspects of the contract agreement.
Will 'Mr. Fix It' appear before d committee? I have my doubts.

All these are initial "gharaghara" to get Anenih to settle them. If Anenih can release 5 billion Naira and distribute to all of them, this would be put on the back burner.

This house shd stop wasting tax payers money to conduct meaningless probe that will lead us nowhere rather insult the intelligence of Nigerians, they and I know that the executive lack the courage and will to fight corruption in certain constituency which 'Mr Fix It'happens to come from.so this people shd stop embarking on fruitless exercise and do the needful by showing the true act of patriotism by legislating to reduce cost of governance and we take it from there.

I could not have said it better. For the sake of posterity, someone should open a national archive of all these unresolved looting, so that the next generation will have evidence to prosecute. Don't expect anything from Jonathan and PDP.

Yeah, Mr Fix It won't really be compeled to account for his time as minister of works. No action has been taken on the probe report concerning the N300bn 'spent' on federal roads during his tenure. Due to d fact that he is a PDP 'godfather',this summon will be conducted like a 'family affair'.
