I welcome it, though i predict a high tax burden on Imo state citizens to cover expenses on them and their guests. It's good because Imo state needs to diversify if Owerri is to join the same league as Abuja, Port, Lagos, Calabar and even Enugu because more diversity makes more activity makes more wealth. We can't sustain as a net exporter of citizens anymore because our human capital will soon be depleted. Why not bring the brains of the nation into Imo by making it more attractive to them? I would like to hear some news about improving the quality of universities as opposed to more populist measures. |

I think it's a smart move to slash the fees for non-indigene. Hostel building (and associated activities) is about to witness a boom in Imo State. LASU students will surely benefit from this move! |

Fake news, how much is the school fee? If he did cut it down to 50%, how much is the new fee? It is either this news is incomplete or they're telling lies. |

NEROSKY: Good move, wish my ediot sulivan(Governor of Enugu state) adopt dis! It is easier to call him ediot because he is not your wretched father who could not afford your school fees. As shallow minded as you are, your silly mind did not tell you that everybody does not do the same thing at the same time. While the allocation of Imo state is far bigger than that of Enugu, have you taken out time to see that Enugu is far more better than Owerri? 3 Likes |

It's a smart move, get as much youths into the state with cheaper education as bait, create an environment they would find irresistible, give the best minds jobs when they graduate, and watch your state flourish. It's the same tactic the US applied and countries like Ukraine and Ghana, where Nigerians are running to, are presently applying, though an upgrade of the schools would have made the plan foolproof. Still, Rochas is thinking smart. 1 Like |
