Our English was on that fateful day teaching us about question tags. She gave examples such as :You are a boy, are'nt you? ......She will not come, will she? ..and so on
Then our teacher instructed us to give our own examples....
Teacher : Kola, give us your example
Kola : You are going there, are'nt you?
Teacher : Very good!
She points to me....
Teacher : Kayode, give us ur own.
Me : We shall chop yam , chop'nt we?
Everyone in the class laughs with Akpors' laugh the loudest
The teacher gets very angry......
Teacher : You are not serious, come out here!. Who wants to correct him.
Akpors was so happy when he was choosen to correct me....
Akpors : Simple question you could'nt answer...We shall chop yam, yam'nt we?
