Some heavy weights in Parliament have been handed shock defeats in the crucial 2012 elections as results trickle in thick and fast. Land and Natural Resources Minister Mike Hammah has lost his Efutu seat to the NPP’s Alexander Afenyo-Markins. He polled 16,977 votes whilst the NPP's Afenyo Markins polled 19,062 votes. Trade Minister Hanna Tetteh has also reportedly lost the Ewutu Senya West Constituency seat to the NPP. Deputy Minority leader Ambrose Derry has also lost his seat to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice Benjamin Kumbuor. The NPP's Catherine Afeku and the CPP's lone ranger in Parliament Samia Nkrumah have all lost their seats to the NDC contenders. Provisional results indicate Afeku lost the Evalue Gwira seat polling 11,651 votes. The NDC's Kweku Tamekyi Kessie polled 14,096 votes to win the seat. More soon; |

The results are almost looking like a neck-to-neck encounter between NDC and NPP. Although, it seems NDC will manage to carry the day from the trends so far. Omoghana, I believe NDC is the ruling party, right? |

NPP REMINDS NDC: SATURDAY’S VOTING TAKES PLACE IN ONLY 1% OF TOTAL NUMBER OF POLLING STATIONS Boakye Agyarko, the Campaign Manager of Nana Akufo-Addo's campaign for President, today predicted with confidence a solid first round victory for the NPP presidential candidate. With only a fraction of votes in less than one percent of polling stations yet to be cast, due to faulty biometric verification machines on December 7, the President of the Republic and the ruling National Democratic Congress are clutching at straws and creating the impression as if the remaining votes, when cast, can overturn the obvious defeat that the ruling party has suffered in this election. |
Re: Ghana Election 2012 Result by Caseless: 11:19am On Dec 08, 2012 |
omoghana22:yea..that's what i'm talking about. How many LGs, provinces, districtss, make up ur constituency? In nigeria, u can find a constituency with 3-4 local govts making up the constituency. U knw what that amounts to numerically. My LG alone u can have 100k+ of total votes cast.....so u see why i'm saying that figure in ghana is too small |
