At the beginning of the Journey, the ‘Military Might’ of this great Country was placed either consciously or unconsciously into the hands of the core north. Out of the 18 security outfits of the young country then, 14 were placed in the core north region, principal among these outfits was the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) and the next sly move was the introduction of the ethnic quota system (in recruitment of soldiers into the Nigerian Army) to favour the Northern Region in the ratio of 60%, 15% each to Eastern and Western Nigeria and finally 10% to the Mid-Western region. This miscalculation placed the military power of this nation solely into the hands of the northern oligarchy. What Nigeria need to really breakthrough from the firm grip of this warped arrangement is to solicit for a new NDA in other remaining 5 regions. Agreed the one NDA is a sign of our unified armed forces numbers but what happened when the Nigerian Army (N.A) has become the Northern Army (still N.A). Indeed there is a PROBLEM!

If Nigeria is going to separate, wherever the military headquarters is won't make a blind bit of difference......this is not the 60's.

I don't think there is need to have NDA in all regions.Am use to the happenings in NDA and if you watch closely, southerner always control the affair of Nigeria Navy and Airforce because most of their activities is based on merit except for Nigeria Army which is based on man know man.

Exactly Andre, you just spoke my mind right there! Why can't they apply the same law on the NDA issue, I was just wondering how come other tribes allow the singular mistake of having the NDA in the core North despite other military establishments already built there,could that be another scheme from 'Buckingham Palace' to give Nigeria away into the hands of their cronies (Northern Oligarchy)? .....and you seem to have forgotten that Nigeria is structured in a way that the region that controls the Army automatically controls the country, trust me, the Nigerian Army is well equipped to quash any rebellion from our Navy and Airforce put together, if you are doubting ask any military personnel you will be loaded with 'more'! We just need to have more NDAs for security reasons!

Nigeria needs restructuring to engerder Nationalistic fervor among all. NDA should be represented in every geopolitical zones to foster National Colouration and unification of our existence further.
