The market is a two way thing. One has to be prepared since nobody knows for certainly the direction the market will go.

Chief, are you saying that people are buying Fidelity now hoping that the price will move north tomorrow?

The best that might happen is that bears will retract and the likes of Diamond will be forced to level up with Fidelity.

But I have also been wrong in the past, I could also be wrong this time around. But the probability that prices will drop seems high enough for me to back off.

Make we continue dey watch.

People buy stocks for different reasons. I actually sold my fidelity today at N1.37.
My point is that we should be careful in predicting the direction of the market. grin

My risk in Fidelity is well calculated...Watch the surprise the bank would pull with possibility of an interim dividend from audited Q2.
Getting Fidelity is a give away below N1.50 thank me later. Study their books. They are meticulous.

N/B - View expressed are personal. Invest wisely grin

Even without an interim, fidelity is a GOLD mine...and they are generous with dividend. grin grin grin

HOLD UNTO WHAT U HAVE lipsrsealed

My fair price is N4.50...and this is just me being careful grin

Fidelity will see below 1.20 if not 1.10, in the months of September.
Remember their, 2017 EPS seems to be same with FCMB.
The only difference, is that Fidelity grow in profit to reach FCMB, while FCMB decline in profit to be same with Fidelity.

Don,t even compare Fidelity with FCMB...Fidelity year end could reach 0.70k and this is a bank that would gladly pay you 0.50k dividend from it. Abeg take another company compare Fidelity.

If Fidelity stays below N2.00 just keep accumulating year end we shall know the truth...abi no b NSE again.

You are expecting 50 kobo from where, 31x2 = 62.
All things been equal Fidelity final year EPS will be around 62 kobo, will they pay all their earning to you without retaining any?.
I like the company, they are trying so far as dividend is concern, and pay better dividend than FCMB.
But it will not stop them from going down in the months of September to carry final year dividend expectant and capital appreciation passengers.

Any way am waiting for for it at my junction come this September. grin grin grin

I always feel pain when i see people who should know falling for this kind of manipulation.
fcmb eps is not 30k at H1 2017. what you see here is annualised. And to know that some investment houses also fell for this thing is really a shame embarassed

Please explain more, but what I saw is 2017 Q2 report not final year.

Maybe, there's something you know that I don't know.

Please help to expose any form of manipulation, am 100% in support of that, before we see another Oando and Transcorp.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Calebbold: 5:16pm On Aug 30, 2017
Fcmb q2 profit is 3.019 billion while the outstanding share is 19.8 billion. 3.019 ➗ 19.8 = 0.15 EPS

We have discussed it here before
fcmb os is 19.8b
PAT is 3b.
eps is PAT/os ; 3/19.8=0.15
When you annualised, you multiply by 2 which gives us 0.3 which is exactly what they did..
They did not do any wrong actually but as investors we should shine our eyes and not be deceived by headlines.
Fcmb eps at H1 2017 is 0.15 and not 0.3

Calebbold:
Fcmb q2 profit is 3.019 billion while the outstanding share is 19.8 billion. 3.019 ➗ 19.8 = 0.15 EPS

OK, I now understand better.
The outstanding share (OS) of Fidelity, FCMB, FBNH,Diamond bank, Honey well, Transcorp stands at;
1. Fidelity is 28,974,797,023.00
2. FCMB. is 19,802,710,754.00
3. FBNH is 35,895,292,792.00
4. Diamond is 23,160,388,968.00
5. Honey wl is 7,930,197, 658.00
6. Transcorp is 40,657,047,297.00

Using their outstanding share (OS) and 2017 Q2 Profit After Tax (PAT) to get their EPS
1. Fidelity; 8.753 ÷ 28.9 = 30 kobo EPS
2. FCMB; 3.019 ÷ 19.8 = 15 kobo EPS
3. FBNH; 29.486 ÷ 35.8 = 82 kobo EPS
4. DIAMOND; 9.323 ÷ 23.1 = 40 kobo EPS
5. Honey well ; 643 ÷ 7.9 = 8 kobo EPS (q1 only)
6. Transcorp ; 1573.541 ÷ 40.6 = 4 kobo EPS

That means that Fidelity double the FCMB EPS.
FCMB really drop.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Calebbold: 6:05pm On Aug 30, 2017
Exactly. Fidelity q2 is 9 billion. 9 ➗ 28.9 = 0.31. Therefore annualized eps should be in the region of about 0.62 while fcmb should be 0.30. If we are using that as a yardstick, then fcmb should be selling half the price of Fidelity.
Chibuking81:

OK, I now understand better.
The outstanding share of both Fidelity and FCMB stands at;
1. Fidelity is 28,974,797,023.00
2. FCMB is 19,802,710,754.00

Using the outstanding share to get their EPS
1. fidelity; ÷ 28.9
2. FCMB; 3.019 ÷ 19.8 = 0.15 EPS

You guys should stop comparing FCMB with fidelity. Fidelity is far better than FCMB and should only be compared with diamond bank which is even better than both. NB fidelity has a higher OS than Diamond bank.
And as for that person that says FCMB makes better profits in q3, look well and see that they actually made a loss last q3. qoq.
