OUTCOME OF MPC MEETING sent to me by Morgan Capital Group. Despite a sustained moderations in the inflation rate, recent increase in the global crude oil price to its All year high of $58 per barrel, and recent exit of the country from recession, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) maintain a status quo to ensure both internal and external stability in the economy at its bi-monthly Meeting which held between Monday, 25th September and 26th September 2017. Below are details of key ratios: The Monetary Policy Rate remains 14% with the asymmetric corridor at +200bps and -500bps around the rate. The Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) at 22.5% The Liquidity ration at 30%. The committee's decision was widely expected as depicted by a Bloomberg poll wherein only 2 analysts out of 19 had expected a rate cut. |

CBN is not serious if this news is anything to go by. Investigating bank MDs, How come are there no mechanism in place to discover this? They just want us to hear news and discuss it like that. dipoolowoo: An extract from the write up states.... The coexistence of high interest rate and growth in money supply are unnatural. Indeed, it generates a contradiction or inconsistency problem. Strong growth in money supply in all countries that adopted quantitative easing pushed down interest rates almost to zero,” Clueless Emefiele... |

DonDiego: Exactly why i advise everyone to hedge against Naira assets! Make sure you have diversified your investments and earnings from only NAIRA! I learnt some bitter lessons from the last devaluation and vowed never to be caught off guards again.. All Emefiele has been doing is Quantitative easing,..... which in lame man terms is PRINTING MORE MONEY FOR THE FG. If the Price of Oil does not get to $80 in the medium term... we are doomed! be warned!! 1 Like |

OBAGADAFFI: No I disagree. PMB is keeping him because he's afraid of an intelligent, smart, savvy, vocal and egg-head economist as CBN governor... Emefiele is just a puppet! |

robobo: I'm actually more interested in an outcome that would favour the minority shareholders. I'm not sure which outcome favours them either Wale loses or wins? At the same time, I am disappointed in his contenders. They don't seem to have done their DD properly hence the reason it was easy for SEC to arrive at the decision to allow the AGM hold. More like their arguments didn't hold on technical grounds. Mangal acquired shares surreptitiously thereby flouting a rule (don't know which now). Wale claims he should have declared it and then demanded for accounts clarification if he needed one. The other guy just be like the rest of us now. Na container of shares him carry but them no sabi am for the company In all, it's a good development for us all. More revelations of dealings expected in the coming weeks. Disclaimer: I don't own Oando shares |
