I normally don't like posting in bullish periods because of the popular knowledge that everyone becomes an expert in such periods.

But I feel obliged to give some thoughts to newbies as they pay their NSE fees.

What is suddenly moving the market? Why are prices going up generally? The answer is simple. No more 18%+ interest in Treasury Bill. No more 16%+ interest in Bonds. All the monies that left the market as a result of the sudden increase of interest rates at the peak of our recession is returning back to the stock market. This is good for the market but has a very big disadvantage to inexperienced traders. Why? Because all the stocks will appreciate in price cool Will they remain so? No Why? Because investors will soon discern the good stocks from the bad and hence offload the bad to unfortunate hands who will then hold them through the bearish period or sell at a loss lipsrsealed

In all this, it is important to know everything about the company you are buying their shares, what is in it for you, what is moving their price and most importantly, your exit plan when poo hits the fan. I give you an example, what's special about Fidelity Bank? Is their numbers the best in the banking index? No cheesy then why is everyone looking their way right now? Simply because they declare good dividend historically. Now, you follow the band wagon, buy Fidelity because of this fact, not planning your trade. After the dividend play and ex-dividend date, the players will exit and this will pull back the price. Why? It will no longer be fruitful to hold Fidelity until the next dividend period chikena.

Another of such company is Afriprud. These are even companies with good financials o. So what happens to you if you had gone ahead to buy caverton because the price is rising with the general bull? Or CI Leasing? Or even Skye

Anyway, I'm in my house. If my opinion annoyed you, come and beat me grin

imagine! Some people think that he has a more accurate system than those that invested more than N10billn at 1.26. I don't know why currentprice talk like this. The other day he attacked diamond even at N1, where is diamond today? I want to advice all not to attack any company cause you are not there. There are levels of investors. No wise investor would invest up to N1blln in caverton or cilease

Giving an opinion about a stock is not the same as attacking it.
CP places a premium on current earnings which is reflected in his choice of stocks.

Transcorp p/e is about 16, which is higher than that of gtb, zenith, DS and other established companies.
Of course stocks is not only about earnings but I have learnt that the bottom line is very very important.
As for those buying based on the hope that transcorp might acquire a new power asset, that is a risky one. The process that will lead to the sale of those assets have not even commenced and only God knows long it will take. And besides, acquiring an Asset is one thing and turning it into profit is another thing.

And finally, I don't know what the share price of transcorp will be in the future as we are all working under probability. I wish those in the bus good luck grin

I have a hunch you are not in the Fidelity train going by the sound-bite of your post. I would not know other better reasons ( maybe price volatility by your reasoning) that will be considered in opting for a particular stock other than good dividend payment history and a growing EPS. Those two variables are clearly on the side of Fidelity bank. It does appear that you mis- timed the market and missed the opportunity to a position.

Forget about Monday, it may well fall to 50k.

I repeat - follow the money.

I now know a thing or two about following money.

BTW - I am a verrrrrry long term investor so my ranting above may not work for everyone.

Not quite sure what you mean ..Uncle Tony(HH) is divesting , if you are following the money then you should running away not buying into it. If there is no trouble ahead not sure why he would be divesting ... in other climes news like this would cause drastic fall in share price lets see market's reaction on Monday... I feel Transcorp is for loose change if at all one want to invest in it.. just my opinion

Okomu and Presco are currently enjoying favourable atmosphere through the government's agro-based companies favourable policy. How long the policies are likely to be retained should be your guide.

For all I care, who bought and who sold 11billion units of transcorp should not be a concern. The major point is that FX liquidity has improved, gas supply has improved, FG is gradually settling their debts to gencos Mr brent crude is headed for 70dollars, recession is over and transcorp is poised to report an impressive result (profit after tax) for FY 2017 compared to loss after tax reported last year. So why all this fuss about cross deal. Lets watch and see.

You might be disappointed waiting for the bulls. Someone invested that amount because they have a big plan for the company beyond bulls and bears.

Unless we all believe that Nigeria will burning diesel to power herself then the power sector is the next big thing. Not to think about their other small biz.

Last word on Transcorp before I get accused of MH

I am surprised so many analysts with little or no knowledge about dynamics of stock market have led Transcorp to abattoir and disembowel the company.

Whether the block divestment was from Uncle T or not, if there is no demand there can not be supply.

if Uncle T truly divest, does that imply the company is dead? go back to the results released so far are they not impressive? over bloated ordinary shares is the problem of the company.

Do you know if the plan is to dilute the shareholding structure?

You guys should go and find out the new buyer first, before you tear Locodemy to pieces.

Don't forget what is old to Uncle T is new to next man

Guess you are quoting me. Go check my posting history. I don't need to be in a stock to comment about it. I'm currently in DF and don't plan leaving it anytime soon and guess what, I'm not in it because of dividend.

Go check my earlier prediction on CI Leasing and Carverton.

I study the market and my posts are what I think of the market at the time of my posting. I don't have any unit of Fidelity, never planned to buy, not planning to buy in the future. Sorry my post hurt u. Ok?
