still cautious about UBA , Access and Zenith esp for new entrants at this price level
all made lower weekly RSI highs after hitting new highs in Jan
hv learnt d hard way not to argue with charts esp divergences in d short term
but all long term bullish anyways

Abeg....what does the charts say about Eterna and May+Baker?

May & Baker
- highest monthly close in over 5 yrs was N3.88 , back in June last yr after a massive 2 month rally
- since then 9 months consolidation and counting ongoing wt support ard 2.50 levels
- when price falls into a range it can be frustrating for holders expecting momentum
- weekly and daily are stuck in dis ranging band within 2.50 low and 3.20 high approx for months now
- a weekly close above N3.20 offers momentum possibilities else na keep coasting
- patience will be tested here for short term hopefuls
- hope u find this useful

I got N55 per unit as the FCFF.

So they can pay N42 without borrowing.

with formula below, i see no way you can arrive at this N55 per share.

pls show me if i am missing something

grin grin

RabbiDoracle:

Effectively it is like PAT + D &A - Capital expenses - WC

PAT = EBIT (1- Tax rate)

To be frank, I don't think this is stone throwing. I have the feeling that we also enjoy our interactions here, as matured men and women, many of whom have traversed the vicissitudes of life .
Just trying to enjoy myself as this forum has become my Facebook. Sorry if I overstep my bounds at times. It's human.

Many have merely endeavoured to capitalise on the macro-economic offshoot of the rising oil price. Has Buhari any economic philosophy?

You have the statement of cash flows. Why do you guys keep using these formulas?

(1)Statement of cash flow tells you the cash inflows and outflows during a business year. Operational cashflow, investing cashflow and financing cashflow.

(2)FCFF tells you the cash position of the company at a point in time. It tells you the cash the company has/has not from a business activity.

(2) is got from (1).

(1) includes borrowing or repayment of loans.

(2) doesn't include borrowing or repayment of loans. It tells you what the true cash position of the company before you start paying off anything.

That is why (2) is calculated using

PAT (after you have deducted everything like staff salaries, paid suppliers, exceptional items sef, tax and added other incomes gotten during the course of the business)

D & A : Depreciation and Amortization. Any accounting provision made to cover for replacement of equipment, inventory etc

Changes in WC: the changes in the capital deployed for running the business

Capital expenditures: the purchases made to replace equipment.

Once this is highly negative, You see companies going to borrow from banks and it will appear under the "cashflow for financing activities" as could be seen in the cash flow statement.

I was adding a line instead of subtraction. grin

Apologies CP.

However, I didn't get a positive value. I got a negative value.

I just hope it is not the 33 that is still causing the negative value

Yes at times it is like that. One clue to support and resistance that most people leave out is to study

how price entered and leave the Zone. I make a simple comment when I saw how way price entered the zone.

It was not an high probability trade. You win some and lose some.

Really length and explanatory. Free cash flow simply suggests cash generated internally by a business

without any encumbrances to outsiders and adding back of provisions like amortization Depreciation and any other non cash charges in income statements. Also adjust for working capital increase or decrease as the case may be.

I answered same call at 2.95 and saw it ride on to 3.04 but the bus conductor refused to lock the door. Passengers turned round and started alighting at 3.02. I quickly dropped from the bus. That was a red flag for me. And I mentioned it to FXUser same day that "that" wall might get broken next week. Little did I know it would happen sooner.

Will need to study this Free Cash Flow analysis properly. Traditionally I just look at the Statement of Cash Flow.

I know what they mean an how they are gotten. These are clearly indicated in the statement of cash flows presented by the company.

But some of you guys still keep calculating rather than just extracting the required values from the cashflow statement.

I extract my values from there cash flow statement. I don't use the balance sheet.

You just add up the items you need.
